Carson City's Catmandu introduces their Cats of the Week: Garfield and Winnie
If you agree that two cats are better than one, come meet Garfield and Winnie, a pair of bonded siblings. This brother and sister duo is new to Catmandu, and they are a little overwhelmed by the 80 other cats, the activity, and the unfamiliar faces of the staff and volunteers.
It’s a tough adjustment for them having recently lost their lifelong home. The good news is that these sweet siblings will be great cats in a home of their own. They do need to stay together, as they do rely on each other for courage and comfort.
Just 4 ½ years old, they are a young and beautiful pair of short-haired orange and white tabby kitties. Both are a little slow to warm up to new people, but given a little time, they are sweet, affectionate and friendly. Once Garfield is comfortable with you, he will never leave your side. He is a talker and will meow to let you know when he wants your attention. Winnie is also loving, but tends to be a little more reserved.
Let’s hear from the kitties. Garfield: "Please be patient with us while we get to know you. We will make it worth your while. We also want to be your only pets. We are afraid of children so, no small children, and no dogs please!”
Winnie: “Oh brother, I knew he would do all the talking and hog the attention.”
If you are ready to open your heart and your home to this great pair of siblings, please come and meet them this weekend at Catmandu.
Catmandu is a local non-profit no-kill cat rescue, adoption center and sanctuary located at 1829 Brown Street. We are open Friday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. We currently have over 80 cats waiting for homes.
