Neeser Construction, a leading general contracting firm with roots in Anchorage, Alaska, has amped up its project expansion efforts in Northern Nevada. The start of Neeser's presence in the area was initially in the 70’s, and currently the firm is the only self-performing, design-build contractor for mid/high rises in the region and is poised to continue expanding locally with keystone developments.

The long-awaited dream of turning our historic Nevada State Prison into a historic tourism attraction is about to become a reality soon thanks to the dedication of past and current committed volunteers of the Nevada State Preservation Society who have stayed the course and not let politics, naysayers, or any other setbacks dampen their enthusiasm.
Carson City, Quad County COVID-19 Tuesday briefing: 26 new cases, 16 recoveries

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 that there are 26 new cases and 16 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region. This brings the total number of cases to 11,142, with 8,819 recoveries and 207 deaths; 2,116 cases remain active.

Ellen Jackson, founder and executive director of Spirit of Hope, along with Delores and many of the Spirit of Hope residents gathered recently with Mayor Lori Bagwell and Ronni Hannaman, executive director of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce at Mills Park to thank the Carson City, Dayton, Minden and Elko communities for the hundreds of Valentines, candy and flowers sent to all the residents.
Carson City Park Rangers seek the owners of two bicycles recovered in December

The Carson City Park Rangers are looking for the owners of two bicycles that were found last year between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, 2020. One of the bikes was located in Mills Park, the other was located on the Freeway Multiuse Pathway between Northgate and College Parkway.

Governor orders flags to half-staff in honor of the 500,000 Americans, more than 4,900 Nevadans who have died due to COVID-19

CARSON CITY — On Tuesday, by executive order, Gov. Steve Sisolak ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Nevada to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and State public buildings and grounds until sunset February 26 in honor of the 500,000 Americans who have passed away due to COVID-19. That includes more than 4,900 Nevadans.
Lake Tahoe prescribed fire operations continue this week

North Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas fire protection districts and the USDA Forest Service will continue prescribed fire operations this week in the Lake Tahoe Basin, conditions and weather permitting. Smoke may be visible.
