Spirit of Hope is a 501c3 nonprofit serving the Carson City homeless since 2010. Spirit of Hope follows the “housing first” model as a solution to homelessness by connecting people to housing and services.
Through this model residents can address other areas that may have contributed to their homelessness such as employment, health, criminal record, and substance abuse. Each person goes through a detailed intake process to qualify for services which measures the level of care needed, medication and outside services required. This is a critical service not offered anywhere else in Carson City with most of the homeless individuals dealing with mental health, substance abuse recovery, or legal issues having no safe and affordable place to go to help them achieve a better lifestyle.
