CARSON CITY, Nev. — Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice James W. Hardesty filed a petition requesting the Nevada Supreme Court consider creating a commission to study the adjudication of water law cases in Nevada’s courts.
Carson City, Quad-County announces rescheduled COVID-19 vaccination events this week

Carson City Health and Human Services has received their shipment of COVID-19 vaccine and the dates for the previously rescheduled COVID-19 vaccination events have been set. Appointments were not canceled. Those who had an appointment for a rescheduled event will not need to make another appointment.

A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday for two counts suspicion of gross misdemeanor malicious destruction of property and trespassing after an incident in which he said he had consumed a large amount of LSD, a Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report states.
Carson City students celebrate Digital Learning Days this week

CARSON CITY — In celebration of National Digital Learning Day this coming Thursday, Feb. 25, students throughout the Carson City School District are showcasing their 21st century skills and advocating for the state’s continued support of technology in schools across the state. In particularly, students with the Carson High School orienteering class spent some time to learn the Catching Features software that enables them to navigate virtually as well as physically over land.
Nevada Medicaid reaches record enrollment

Medicaid and Check Up are now serving more than 810,000 Nevadans, which accounts for one out of every four Nevadans. The increase is attributed to the pandemic and subsequent economic downturn.

I look forward to spring. The first nubs of bulbs poking up last week elated me since it is the middle of winter. And then, oh no! I’m slapped in the face with the realities of spring I would rather not confront. I saw my first ground squirrel! I also saw the extensive tunneling damage the voles have done to our lawn leaving shredded dead grass everywhere. Spring is not all lovely beauty!
