You better watch out, you better not cry. You better not pout, either, because Santa Claus is coming to town Saturday, Dec. 10 during the Olde Time Christmas Santa Parade in downtown Carson City.
Starting at 11 a.m. on Telegraph Square — corner of Curry and Telegraph streets — the jolly holiday parade features Kris Kringle riding aboard the U.S.S. Nevada, a Burning Man art car.
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun — especially children and military veterans — escorting Saint Nick through the streets of historic downtown Carson City.
After the parade, Santa Claus will appear on the porch of Rocking and Rolling on Telegraph Square, handing out candy canes beginning at 11:30 a.m. and lasting until 1 p.m.
Parade line-up begins at 10:30 a.m. on Telegraph Square. The route begins at Curry and Telegraph, proceeding to the corner of Carson and Musser Streets, then back to Telegraph Square again.
Vendors, including the Tahoe Tenderloins Food Truck from the Westside Pour House, will be available on Telegraph Square from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be face painting and other children’s activities on the square, too.
This event, sponsored by Downtown 2020, includes a food drive for Friends In Service Helping (FISH). Those planning to attend are asked to donate a non-perishable canned food item.
