The Brewery Arts Center’s Flatbed Concert Series to play Empire Ranch Golf Course neighborhood Saturday
The Brewery Arts Center will deliver live music directly to the citizens of Carson City while practicing social distancing once again this week.
Miles Construction Company has generously donated the use of a Flatbed Truck and with financial support from The Change Companies, the Nauman Foundation, and Carson Tahoe Hospital, all summer the BAC has placed musicians and bands on the flatbed and driven them through the streets and neighborhoods of Carson City and now the fun goes into September.
This Saturday, Sept. 5, the BAC is proud to bring back Eric Henry Andersen, this time with the talented Tyler Stafford. Armed with an acoustic guitar and a voice that will stop you mid step, Tyler Stafford is one songwriter and performer you do not want to miss. He is known for his smooth guitar playing, instantly memorable melodies and poetic lyrics that range in subject matter from personal relationships to socially conscious commentary that will have you humming along from the first listen.
Tyler will be playing with Eric Henry Andersen Eric Henry Andersen’s signature emotive tenor voice and award-winning songwriting has captured the hearts of audiences for over a decade. As co-lead singer/songwriter of pop/rock group, The Novelists, Andersen has toured all over the nation sharing festival bills with and opening for artists such as Train, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Glenn Philips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) and Daryl Stuermer (Genesis/Phil Collins Band).
On June 17, 2020, Andersen released his first solo project since 2012. “Holding Space” is a collection of songs about love, loss and transition. “It’s about owning one’s truth and realizing the beauty of impermanence,” Andersen says. The self-produced 5 song EP is rich with the melodic hooks we’ve grown to expect from Andersen and fans will find it to be his most cohesive and heartbreakingly sincere work yet.
“Holding Space” reveals a new level of maturity in both emotional and artistic expression. In 2020, Artown commissioned Eric to create a song using over 50 Reno artists “Heartbeat to Heartbeat, Eye to Eye”, from Reno with love and used as a fundraiser for the Artist Fund.
We are thrilled to have Eric back on the truck and you can view the beautiful video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn5AL1jIr6Y
Please note, this week the flatbed truck will begin at 5 pm and end at 8pm as it has been getting darker earlier.
The flatbed stage will make its way through the neighborhoods near beginning on Pheasant Dr. and stopping at the two pocket parks near Empire Ranch Golf Course and wherever people are safely gathering.
The BAC strongly encourages social distancing and especially wearing masks when they stop by the larger, open spaces and parks to perform a few songs. The BAC will be giving out goodie bags and art kits for the kids and even face masks if you need one.
