Carson City deputies make arrests for domestic battery, DUI

A 59-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Monday in the 3400 block of Imperial Way for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Heller, Amodei attend Carson City Chamber luncheon amid protests

United States Sen. Dean Heller and U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei were the featured guest speakers at Wednesday's monthly Soup's On luncheon series sponsored by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

A 42 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 12:39 a.m. in the area of Goldfield Avenue and Saliman Road on suspicion of felony child neglect or endangerment, as well as for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

Jacks Valley Elementary is closed, but all other Minden/Gardnerville students are headed back. Stay safe out there, and thank you to all the city and state staff, volunteers, and good neighbors that are working hard to keep the damage to a minimum.

Carson City courthouse open, Meals on Wheels resumes Tuesday, evacuation shelter to close

The Meals on Wheels program is closed today. Seniors are asked to eat their provided shelf-stable meal. Welfare checks are being made on those seniors who th participate in the program. The Senior Center will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and will resume normal operations.

A 47-year-old transient was arrested Thursday in the 1100 block of East William Street for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and having suspended license plates.
