“There are so many big and diverse issues and ideas facing Carson City presently, so I welcome everyone to come out so we can continue the discussion on the arts in Carson City, as well as proposed development in town, and sexual assault and what is happening to resolve that issue,” she said. “The more voices heard in these very important conversations, the better for all of us.”

Carson City man sentenced to 10 years prison for child pornography

Bogden, for the District of Nevada.

Jordan Frasier Schroeder, a Tramway Drive resident, was brought by Douglas County authorities to Carson City to face the charges, issued April 6, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $30,000.

UNR students, faculty and staff stand up for sexual assault awareness
Submitted by editor on Thu, 04/02/2015 - 9:51amSince the February release of results from a student survey regarding sexual conduct and safety, a number of efforts to strengthen a supportive campus climate, one with zero tolerance for sexual assault, sexual misconduct and other life-damaging actions, have been put in place at the University of Nevada, Reno.
In March, the University launched a 24-hour Sexual Assault/Sexual Misconduct Hotline, allowing students, faculty and staff to report incidents that occur on or off campus. The caller may remain anonymous if he/she chooses. The hotline phone number is 775-784-1030.
Carson City weekend arrest log: Man jailed on sexual assault, lewdness with a child charges
Submitted by editor on Mon, 03/30/2015 - 10:30amA 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday 5:52 p.m. at Carson Tahoe Hospital on felony warrant charges alleging sexual assault on a minor and lewdness with a child under the age of 14, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested was Daniel James Sperske, a resident in the 1400 block of North Edmonds Drive. He was at the hospital being treated for an injury. Officers knew he had the warrants issued March 24 out of Carson City Justice Court and made the arrest there. Bail: $150,000.

Drake Martin, 20, was arrested Wednesday on a priority 5 parole and probation violation, with the charges filed Friday by the Carson City District Attorney’s Office, said Detective Sal Acosta. If convicted he faces a maximum of life in prison.

He was being held without bail awaiting a hearing.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 11/03/2014 - 12:39pmA 59-year-old Carson City man was jailed Sunday after allegedly using a gun in an attempted sexual assault and then, later, pointing the weapon at a law officer when he was called to investigate, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Richard John Besal, was arrested at 5:23 p.m. at an apartment in the 2000 block of West College Parkway. He’s being held on $80,000 bail. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the apartment complex for a report of a possible suicidal subject.
Man accused of possessing thousands of child pornography images now in Carson City Jail

He was booked into jail on a Carson City Justice Court warrant for possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of children under the age of 16. His first appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov.
Letter: DA Rombardo wrong, misrepresents facts

That’s why it was disappointing to read Mr. Rombardo’s letter. He’s entitled to an opinion on the race. And, although it’s not my style, if he chooses to express his opinion as an attack against me rather than approval of my opponent, that’s up to him.
But he doesn’t get to be untruthful.
