Carson City sheriff’s weekend arrest log: Man jailed on child sexual assault warrant

A 67-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 1:20 p.m. in the 400 block of East Park Street on a felony warrant, suspicion of sexual assault of a child, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
In custody is Ramon Medina-Lopez who was arrested in the 400 block of East Park Street in Carson City.
According to the arrest report, the alleged sexual assault involved a child under the age of 14, a category A felony. The warrant was issued March 6, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Medina-Lopez is being held on a $150,000 bond.
In other arrests: A 29-year-old Carson City woman, Melissa Sue Alarid, was arrested Friday, 8:14 p.m. in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East on a felony warrant, embezzlement, issued March 4, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $20,000
— A 23-year-old Carson City man, John Robert Staikoff, was arrested Saturday, 5:36 p.m. in the 700 block of Silver Oak on three felony charges: possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription. He also faces misdemeanor charges of violation of Alternative Sentencing and possession of marijuana. Bail: $13,737.
— A 67-year-old San Francisco man was arrested Saturday, 1:09 a.m. in the 5000 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor warrant, battery, issued Jan. 13, 2010 out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $635.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:16 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, a deputy in the area of a casino parking lot saw a couple get into a verbal argument resulting in the man grabbing the victim by the shirt and pulling her around. The woman was uninjured and was provided with a domestic violence information card. Bail: $3,137.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 6:20 p.m. in the 1900 block of East Long Street on misdemeanor charges of violation of a temporary restraining order and violation of a suspended sentence. $4,137.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 7:51 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue on a misdemeanor charge warrant of violation of a suspended sentence, issued Feb. 23, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 11:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Broadleaf Lane on misdemeanor warrant for domestic battery issued March 2, 2015 out of Carson City Municipal Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:35 p.m. n the area of Saliman and Long streets on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued Jan. 27, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 3:52 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to pay fines and fees, issued out of Sparks Township Court. Bail: $268.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 2:26 a.m. in the area of South Edmonds and Koontz on misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. According to the arrest report, officers made a traffic stop after observing a vehicle speeding and braking excessively.
An officer met with the man and could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from him. He had red watery eyes and slow speech. The officer asked the man if he had been consuming marijuana. He said no. The officer asked the man if he had been drinking, and the man replied he had. Due to the man’s self-admission to consuming alcohol, the odor of marijuana and his watery eyes, the officer asked the man if he would perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He agree and had an unsatisfactory performance on the tests. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana. He provided a blood sample at jail. Bail: $1,137.
— A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:25 a.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street on a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Sparks Justice Court. Bail: $800.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
