Carson City man jailed on multiple sexual assault charges
A 20-year-old Carson City man was booked Friday on four counts sexual assault involving a minor under 16 and other sex related charges, a Carson City sheriff’s office investigator said.
Drake Martin, 20, was arrested Wednesday on a priority 5 parole and probation violation, with the charges filed Friday by the Carson City District Attorney’s Office, said Detective Sal Acosta. If convicted he faces a maximum of life in prison.
Martin is being held on $250,000 bail with a no-bail hold on the four additional charges.
In other arrests:
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 1:02 a.m. in the 2000 block of Mountain Street on a warrant, contempt of court, issued Nov. 4, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail; $500.
A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 12:20 a.m. in the area of Shady Oak Drive and Saliman on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, the man was stopped for speeding in the area. He admitted to having approximately three beers at a bar. He refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests and provided a preliminary breath test with a .12, the arrest report states. At jail the man consented to a blood test. Bail: $1,137.
— A 54-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Thursday, 9:48 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Nichols Lane. She was booked on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, no proof of insurance, driving without a valid license, and not having a functioning rear license plate light. According to the arrest report, the woman was stopped because her vehicle didn’t have a functioning rear license plate light. She told a deputy that she did not have a current driver’s license nor could she produce a current proof of insurance.
The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The woman told the officer she was in possession of a small amount of marijuana that she had in her purse. She allowed the officer to look through the purse. Before the officer did, she informed him that she had a meth pipe and a marijuana pipe inside a pouch. Officers found the pipes, marijuana and baggie with residue of methamphetamine. Bail: $2,865.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 4:05 p.m. in the 2700 block of Menlo on two misdemeanor charges of violation of a protection order. Bail: $1,274.
— A 36-year-old Dayton man, Charles Donald Muscott, an inmate at the Carson City Jail, was booked Wednesday on additional charges, including a felony warrant for burglary, issued out of Dayton Township Justice Court and misdemeanor warrants for criminal contempt and petit larceny. Bail: $26,975.
— A 50-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City jail on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a temporary order, issued Nov. 14, 2014. Bail; $3,000.
— A 61-year-old Sparks man as arrested Wednesday, 2 p.m. in the area of Roop and William streets on a misdemeanor warrant, insufficient funds, issued Dec. 13, 2013 out of Sparks Justice Court. Bail: $700.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
