The week that they return from break will be extremely busy for leadership students, as they will be decorating for three major events to be held April 16, 17, and 18.

The Silver State Tag already allows hunters the opportunity to hunt one of four big game species (mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, Nelson (desert) bighorn sheep and pronghorn antelope) anywhere in the state, but this year the winner could also walk away with thousands of dollars’ worth of hunting gear and services.

Senator Square: Mural contest winner paints 'Road to Success'
Submitted by editor on Sun, 03/29/2015 - 10:52amThe Greater Nevada Credit Union branch at CHS recently sponsored a Mural Contest open to all Carson High Students. All entries were judged and the 1st place winner was Athena Favero, who received a $200 Amazon Gift Card. Second place and a $100 Amazon Gift Card went to Michael Rose. As part of the contest, Athena painted her winning design "A Senator’s Road To Success” on the hallway wall outside the GNCU branch at CHS. Students and staff are encouraged to come by and see her winning mural at Carson High School. Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to all the students who entered.

Historic Pony Express to be recognized in Carson City with 'Active Station' designation

Beginning next month the Pony Express will become a permanent fixture and a Carson City visitor destination.

Enjoy a nice dinner tonight, complete with live music, if you head to Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, Glen Eagles, or Living the Good Life. The Carson City Symphony is looking for bassoons, French horns, and violas to join them at rehearsals tonight.
Carson City Singer Entertains at Huckabee Event

Singer Rick J. Radecki has been in northern Nevada for just over two years now, but is already making a name for himself and his special brand of music — a mix of Romantic Standards and Classic Country, with just a hint of a Broadway Show Tune and Patriotic favorite stirred in.

St. Patrick's Day Book Sale

The sale includes all hard cover and paperback books, DVDs, videos and special items. In addition, members of the Friends of the Library will receive an extra 10 percent off on Monday, March 16th if they bring in their membership card. The book store is located at 711 East Washington Street in Carson City and is open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

The quaint-yet-majestic cabin, listed by Chase International’s Karen Bruno, received the most online votes in the Celebrity Homes category. Ascent Runs is hosting a 5/10K and a half marathon at C-Hill on Saturday. You can register at the race, just make sure you aren’t late. Youth Football season has arrived with sign-ups for SYFL and Pop Warner on Saturday. Cheer on the Western Nevada College Wildcats as their Baseball and Softball teams battle against Salt Lake City Community College.

Senator Square: Proficiency testing this week at Carson High School

Students taking the proficiency tests will begin their school day at the regular time of 7:45 a.m., while those not taking the proficiencies will start their school day at 10:30 a.m. The following tests will be given on the assigned days — March 2: Math; March 3: Reading; March 4: Writing; and March 5: Science. The enchanted evening will held at Senator's Castle, Carson High School, on April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This community event is open to all ages of girls. One Princess from each elementary and middle school in the Carson City area will be crowned that evening, and one from a pre-school age group as well. There is no age limit for this event.
Sheriff's Office: 2 businesses out of 27 fail alcohol sale to minors compliance check
