Carson City Singer Entertains at Huckabee Event
Former Arkansas governor, Mike Huckabee, is coming to Carson City, and one resident, in particular, is tuning up his voice for the conservative icon's visit.
Singer Rick J. Radecki has been in northern Nevada for just over two years now, but is already making a name for himself and his special brand of music — a mix of Romantic Standards and Classic Country, with just a hint of a Broadway Show Tune and Patriotic favorite stirred in.
Radecki started his part-time entertainment business, "Lion's Roar Media," back in 2005 in the High Desert region of southern California. "I was already doing small, local stage shows with various troupes and dance studios throughout so Cal, and I just thought it was high time to branch out on my own--in an environment where I call the shots of what I perform, where I perform, and rehearse and book myself on my own terms," Radecki says.
Over the past several years, relocating from California, to southeast Texas, and eventually setting down roots in northern Nevada, this friendly and energetic performer of timeless chart-busters (from the likes of Frank Sinatra, to Merle Haggard, to Howard Keel) says that the historical, down-home feel of Carson City and the surrounding regions is the perfect fit for his particular style of entertainment.
Radecki explains by saying, "Life is not dull here in northern Nevada, but it certainly runs at a slower pace than that of big-city life in L.A. or New York. I like that! People seem to actually take the time to enjoy life and reminisce over the special songs that they grew up and identify with. That's exactly why the tagline for Lion's Roar Media is 'Singing the soundtrack of your life!'"
Rick J. Radecki will open his first set of music at 5:30 p.m., on the stage of the Silver State Charter School Performing Arts Center, with a salute to classic country songs as "Country Bumpkin," "Burgers and Fries," "I Cross My Heart" and other memorable tunes. Then, after Governor Huckabee addresses the guests, while dinner is served, Radecki will unpack his popular crooners show featuring cherished love songs as "Nice 'N Easy," "Unforgettable," "Three Coins in the Fountain" and more.
