A work-related accident at a South Reno construction site Jan. 14 took the life of Adan Torres and a family in Carson City was changed forever. Local woman, Trina Voigt, whose son is a classmate of Torres’ daughter, is holding a bake sale Saturday, March 7, near the pool at Mills Park from 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Torres family.
“When I heard of what happened, my heart ached for this family and I wanted to reach out and this is what the students at school and I came up with.” says Voigt. Approximately ten students from Mark Twain Elementary, including her son and Mr. Torres’ daughter, will be on hand to help with the bake sale. Voigt is looking for donations of baked goods.
“I am seeking others to contribute. As a community, we together can make this successful, and I cannot do it alone! Any and all baked items will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.”
Voigt can be contacted by phone at 775-378-8719.
