This weekend calls for a celebration, because the first Saturday of March is upon us and that means the Carson City Downtown Business Association Wine Walk come rain, snow, wind or shine. And get this: Today's Wine Walk is the last one before Spring.

Not only is Friday the first day of March in this 2019 calendar year but it is also the end of the work week. And for this we say welcome to a month that brings us the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, which is this Saturday, NCAA basketball playoffs, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and the first day of spring. Lyon County road crews continue to address flash flooding and snow removal on Thursday. Currently the retention basin at the area of Dayton Valley Road and Sutro is filling and may overflow by Thursday afternoon, said Lyon County Manager Jeff Page.

Continued rain on melting snow has prompted the National Weather Service to issue an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory on Thursday morning for Carson City, Douglas, Southern Washoe, Northern Lyon and Storey counties.
