Memorial Day is the day we celebrate those men and women who passed while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Military veterans and seniors to take flight in WWII biplane: Public invited to attend and watch Dream Flights

Pre-selected military veterans and seniors will enjoy the thrill of a Dream Flight in a 1944 Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train military aviators during World War II. The flights are courtesy of Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation (AADF), a Carson City-based nonprofit that honors U.S. military veterans nationwide with free Dream Flights. AADF has given more than 3,700 Dream Flights nationwide since 2011.

The following is from the Sheriff's Office: Due to anticipated cold, wet, windy weather conditions Carson City Sheriff’s Office regrets to inform the community of the cancellation of the Cops and Kids Safe Streets Party which was scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the National Weather Service a slight chance of showers and potential for wind is predicted. Unfavorable weather conditions may cause significant disruption in the planned outdoor activities. The event cannot be relocated indoors as accommodations are limited. Staff of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank those interested in attending and appreciates the community’s support.

The 16th annual Cops and Kids Safe Streets Party, hosted by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, will be held Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office administration building, 911 East Musser Street.

Public safety, awareness and community are at the center of this popular annual spring event where the theme is “Cops and Kids: Where the Community and Law Enforcement Come Together.”

Fishing Report: Planting has begun, and anglers are already starting to reel them in

Hello fellow anglers, what great time of year. The rivers have opened in California. Which, depending on the new regulation that is being decided on, may not close on November 15th.

As well as Alpine county, the lakes in Inyo and Mono Counties have opened and have been producing some beautiful fish, which I will share later in this report. It's hard to believe how fast the time goes.

Boat ramps at Lake Tahoe's Sand Harbor and Cave Rock are now open from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily, according to Nevada State Parks.
