A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday on felony charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary after allegedly stealing items from a department store and then throwing a large rock at two store security officers as he was trying to escape, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Joanna Grajeda, who pled guilty to the crime of robbery, will get 3 to 10 years in prison as ordered by Carson City District Court Judge James Russell. Two others have also pled guilty and were sentenced to prison.

Pizza Hut in Gardnerville robbed Monday night at gunpoint

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery at the Pizza Hut restaurant in Gardnerville on Monday night.

At 8:15 pm, a male entered the restaurant at 1362 Highway 395, produced a handgun and demanded the clerk give him money from the cash register, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.

Carson City man in custody on burglary charges related to church break-in

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office executed two search warrants Thursday and have arrested a Carson City man on felony charges related to the February burglary of local church, a Carson City sheriff’s lieutenant said.

Arrested was Dwayne Kirk Snyder, 36. He faces felony charges of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property in the Feb. 3, 2015 break-in of Capital Baptist Church located at 455 South Edmonds Drive.

Sheriff: Suspects in casino robbery remain at large, considered armed and dangerous

Two masked men who robbed a casino in the 300 block of East Winnie Lane in Carson City at around 9 p.m. Thursday night remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

Two completely masked male suspects entered the Slotworld Cabaret casino where one of the men pointed a .22 caliber pistol at two casino employees. The robbery occurred while the employees were preparing to close the business for the evening, said Furlong.

UPDATE: An armed robbery was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday at Slotworld's Cabaret, 324 East Winnie Lane in Carson City. The robbery involved two adult male suspects, one with a skeleton mask and the other described as wearing a green jacket, according to Carson City dispatch.

Suspect in custody after allegedly asking restaurant clerk, customers if he could rob them

UPDATE 9:23PM: A suspect was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly walking into Port of Subs on East William Street and asking the clerk and customers if he could rob them. The incident happened at around 7:45 p.m.

According to Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Earl Mays, the man walk walked into the fast food restaurant and said to the clerk and two patrons inside, "Can I rob you?"

Carson City Sheriff's Office seeks information on 2 robberies in less than 11 hours

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating two armed robberies that happened within 10 hours apart. These two robberies are not considered to be committed by the same person, but cannot be ruled out as of yet.
Monday late evening, at approximately 8:09 p.m., Carson City sheriff’s deputies responded to Adam and Eve, located at 3220 Highway 50 East for a reported armed robbery.

Crossroads Bar on East Winnie Lane burglarized with cleaning person inside

The Crossroads Bar at Winnie Lane was burglarized this morning, with the cleaning person inside the business at the time they broke in, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The burglary happened at around 6:30 a.m., and involved two men, each wearing dark clothing and ski masks. They made entry, possibly using tools, gaining access through the back of the business at 300 east Winnie Lane across from Lone Mountain. Some evidence has been recovered, according to officers on scene. The cleaning person was not injured.

Carson City Adam and Eve store robbed, suspect drew handgun

UPDATE: The following is from a Carson City Sheriff's Office news release issued early this morning. Deputies responded to Adam and Eve, located at 3220 Highway 50 E #1 for an armed robbery.

A single white male entered the store pointing a handgun at the customers and demanded money. The suspect was able to get an undisclosed amount of money from the store.

The suspect was described as five feet four inches to five feet eight inches tall with a stocky build. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, light colored pants, black gloves, black shoes, and a dark colored bandana over his face. The suspect pointed a black handgun at customers and employees during the robbery and fled on foot.

Trio arrested for Saturday robbery at Carson City apartment complex

Three are in custody on felony charges after a couple was robbed at gunpoint in their apartment Saturday morning in the 1400 block of Woodside Drive, a Carson City sheriff’s lieutenant said.

The suspects, two men and a women from the Sacramento area, were arrested after several 911 calls were made to Carson City dispatch reporting yelling, screaming and men with guns coming out of an apartment in the Stanton Arms complex, said Lt. Brian Humphrey.

Three jailed in South Tahoe after Roseville man was beaten, robbed responding to Craigslist car ad

Three men were arrested Sunday at South Shore following a strong arm robbery that happened in Roseville, Calif., in which a victim had been beaten and robbed of $30,000 while responding to a Craigslist ad, South Lake Tahoe police said.

The victim told police he was robbed by the three suspects — now identified as Jeremy Wood, Dylan Sapsford and Eric Anderson — on Saturday when he was responding to a Craigslist advertisement for the purchase of a car, said South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Travis Cabral.

South Lake Tahoe police investigate armed robbery Monday night at KFC

South Lake Tahoe police are investigating an armed robbery that happened late Monday night at the KFC in the 3600 block of Lake Tahoe Boulevard.

No one was injured in the hold up, which happened at around 11:30 p.m. after the restaurant had closed. Several employees were in the building at the time and the suspect had already fled when officers arrived, said South Lake Tahoe Police Detective Jeff Roberson. The male suspect kept identifying face recognition and skin color covered. He is described as an adult male, five feet, 8 inches tall and about 130 pounds.

Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest four in purse robbery involving 99-year-old victim

Several arrests have been made in connection with a 99-year-old woman who was robbed earlier this month of her purse and several hundred dollars in cash, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Thursday.

On Dec. 4 the sheriff’s office responded to the report of a robbery in the 600 block of East Spear Street, near downtown Carson City. At the scene, the 99-year-old elderly victim reported that a female had confronted her in her garage and forcefully took her purse.

Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest three on felony robbery and kidnapping charges

Three people were arrested Thursday on felony charges in connection with an alleged kidnapping and robbery that happened at a Menlo Drive residence on Nov. 23 and may have involved as many as seven people.

Lawrence “Ears” Reagan, 29, Crystal Gonzales-Rubke, 24, and Randall Saucedo, 30, were arrested on warrants issued out Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 of Carson City Justice Court. Each are being held on $200,000 bail. The three are from Carson City.

The pair who robbed an elderly Carson City World War II veteran over Memorial Day weekend earlier this year have been sentenced to prison.

Robert "Robbie" Hernandez, 28, and Jordan Burkhart, 24, were each sentenced Tuesday in Carson City District Court to six years to 15 years each for robbery against a person over the age of 60, and an additional six years to 20 years for perpetrating the crimes on a person older than 60 years of age.

Intoxicated driver parked in middle of road mistakenly thinks he’s at the Bunny Ranch

A Carson City man was arrested earlier this week after officers found his vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway, with the intoxicated driver insisting that he was parked at a brothel, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The 41-year-old man was arrested Monday, Oct. 20, 11:43 p.m. in the area of Imperial and Applegate on a misdemeanor charge, suspicion of DUI first offense.

UPDATE: The following news release was issued this morning from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office regarding Thursday night's armed robbery of a convenience store on Mica Drive south of Carson City.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Carson Country Market 924 Mica Drive, for an armed robbery that had occurred. A white male described as approximately 25 years old, 5 feet five inches, 180 pounds wearing a black (Elvis) wig, black glasses, dark hoodie, and dark pants and armed with a handgun robbed the clerk at the store.

Reward offered in Gardnerville 7-Eleven armed robbery

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who robbed the 7-Eleven store on Tillman Lane in the Gardnerville Ranchos area early Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened at 1:20 a.m. when a man, described as Caucasian or light-skinned Hispanic, mid 30s to 40s in age, approximately five feet five inches tall with a stocky build entered the store, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks. He had a Hispanic accent, was wearing dark pants, a long-sleeve black sweatshirt and a baby blue beanie.

Two suspects sought by Carson City detectives in Airport Road stabbing that happened Monday

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted robbery involving two suspects that happened Monday in which a person was stabbed.

According to Carson City Sheriff's Detective Steve Olson, the incident happened between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. when two suspects knocked on an apartment door in 1600 block of Airport Road.

Fourth suspect in McCune murder pleads guilty

Raul Garcia entered a guilty plea today in Carson City District Court in the April 6, 2013 murder of Nevada's chief insurance examiner.

Garcia was arrested in connection with the beating death of William McCune, 62, at his apartment in Carson City. Three other co-defendants — Makyla Blackmore, Anthony Elliott and Michael Evans — pled guilty to lesser charges in October. Blackmore and Evans had agreed to testify against Garcia had it gone to trial.

Man in custody after robbery on Highway 50 East

UPDATE: The Carson City Sheriff's Office has identified the man arrested for a burglary and chase this morning as Nicholas Stockwell, 22, of Carson City. He faces charges of Class B felony attempted burglary and misdemeanor charges of property damage and resisting a police officer.

Carson City detectives ask for help in identifying robbery suspects

Carson City Sheriff's Office detectives have asked for the public's help in identifying a pair suspected in a June 4 robbery. The event happened at 12:45 when the two, seen in the above photos, entered a Carson City business.

The female suspect distracted the business owner, while the male suspect reached behind the counter and stole several pieces of jewelry and later left the business.
