The weather should be dryer and warmer as the weekend progresses but have back-up plans for your bar-be-que, just in case. From the Downtown Carson City Ghost Walk to the Rockin’ Rib Fest at Casino Fandango, a day hike with Muscle Powered to the Spring Blinky Man night-time costumed bike pub crawl – this weekend is chock-full of fun for locals and visitors alike, for the young and young-at-heart.

Forest Service urges safety first when recreating this Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day weekend is the kick off for the summer, and traditionally it is a very busy weekend on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Forest visitors can enjoy biking, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, and many more recreations activities this summer.
Friday in Carson City and beyond: flags, food, music and more

The inaugural Rockin’ Rib Fest at Fandango begins this afternoon and runs until Monday, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to sample some grilled bbq. The Proscenium Players begin their run of ‘The Hit’ in the Brewery Arts Center’s Black Box Theater; break a leg. Lend a hand to our various Veterans’ organizations this afternoon as they plant flags on the graves of those who served in the Lone Mountain Cemetery: many hands make light work.
Carson City's first Memorial Day weekend Rockin' Rib Fest to dish up barbecue, music and more

The four day inaugural event will bring award-winning rib cookers from around the country to the capital city, including Austin’s Texas Lightning BBQ, Chicago BBQ Company, Back Forty Texas BBQ, and local favorite Carson City BBQ.
Highway 395 near Topaz Lodge reopened

With help from the Nevada Department of Transportation Highway 395 is now open. The Douglas County Road Department, Town of Minden and the Town of Gardnerville made progress on Topaz Park Road and it remains open.
Majestic: San Francisco's Ultimate Tribute to Journey

Railroad Museum in Carson City heads full steam into Memorial Day weekend, summer

Construction crews this week completed removal of more than 110,000 square feet of debris and repairs to the tracks on the museum grounds that were damaged by flooding in January.

New zip line to go through treetops at South Tahoe this summer
