Eyes on Carson City: Memorial Day weekend send off
Northern Nevadans in and around the Nevada state capital were given a proper send off to the big three-day holiday weekend Friday afternoon by Carson City resident E.D. Crouser, well known in the community for waving her uplifting messages to motorists at busy intersections around town.
Crouser, sporting her signature red-foam clown nose, stood at the corner of U.S. Highway 50 East and Fairview Drive during the busy Friday afternoon rush hour.
She waved signs honoring America's service men and women, who will be front and center all weekend long as events and activities are held throughout the region to pay them tribute.
The holiday weekend culminates Monday with solemn observances conducted at cemeteries around Northern Nevada.
Both Lone Mountain and the Stewart Indian cemeteries have Memorial Day services scheduled for Monday.
