Eyes on Carson City: Memorial Day weekend downtown
It's beginning to look a lot like summer in downtown Carson City.
The Spring Farmer's Market at Musser and Nevada streets, a prelude to the popular Third and Curry Farmer's Market that crowds the parking lot across from Bob McFadden Plaza throughout the summer, was held Saturday morning.
The first Ghost Walk of 2017 also took place Saturday evening through the historic west side neighborhood, beginning at Curry Street and winding its way down Fourth to the Ferris Mansion. Then on to Minnesota Street and the Ormsby-Rosser House, the Brewery Arts Center at Division and King streets, and colorful residences along West Musser and Mountain streets.
Bob McFadden Plaza was abuzz with summer-like activity as children played in the water fountain.
Now there's there an ice cream establishment added to the mix, making the walking plaza that used to be Third Street the place to be when temperatures heat up this summer.
