Meals on Wheels Carson City joins in nationwide March for Meals

Meals on Wheels Carson City, a program administered by the Carson City Senior Center, announced today that it will be participating in the 17th annual March for Meals, a month-long, nationwide celebration of Meal on Wheels and our senior neighbors who rely on the vital service to remain healthy and independent at home.

Nathan Tack, a 6th grader at Carson City's Bethlehem Lutheran School, has been notified by the National Geographic Society that he is one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2019 National Geographic GeoBee Nevada State Competition.

Reno Hindu statesman Rajan Zed opened Washington House of Representatives with Sanskrit prayers

Washington State House of Representatives in capital Olympia opened its March 6 session with Hindu prayers, containing verses from world’s oldest existing scripture.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed delivered the invocation from ancient Sanskrit scriptures. After Sanskrit delivery, he then read the English interpretation of the prayer. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages.

‘The Mustang’ filmed at Carson City’s historic prison arrives in theaters March 15

‘Coffee Scientists’ of Old World Coffee Lab open Carson City cafe inside Union Brewery

Reno’s Old World Coffee Lab has opened a new coffee shop inside the Union Brewery in Carson City, serving up coffee where recipes are half scientific, half pre-industrial.

Old World Coffee Lab opened its first shop in Reno’s Midtown four years ago on California Avenue. Its mission, owners say, is to bring light to the coffee world and its processes.
