Upcoming Sierra Nevada Forum asks: Are we prepared for disaster?
Sierra Nevada Forums March presentation is a topic everyone in the Carson City area and throughout western Nevada should be considering: Are we prepared for a natural disaster like the one that happened in Paradise, Calif. last fall?
The community is invited to attend this important discussion to learn about our community strategies currently in place that address flood, fires, earthquakes and pandemics.
Featured speakers are:
— Tod Raw, Deputy Emergency Manager for Carson City
— Dave Fogerson, Deputy Emergency Manager for Douglas County
— Jeanne Freeman, Quad- Country Public Health Preparedness Manager
The speakers will enlighten guests about our region's disaster preparedness. Take the test to see if you are prepared. Are we living in an area similar to Paradise, Calif., which was devastated in a Nov. 8, 2018 wildfire? Are we ready for any other kinds of emergencies and natural disasters?
The forum is Tuesday, March 12 at the Brewery Art Center Performance Hall, 511 West King St., Carson City. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The presentation is free. Donations are gladly accepted. See the Sierra Nevada Forum website here for more information.
