Carson City committee faces appeal on Special Use Permit granted to an Extended Stay RV Park

On Jan. 30, the Carson City Planning Committee decided to approve a Special Use Permit for an extended stay RV park on property zoned Tourist Commercial located at 1400 Old Hot Springs Road. The maximum stay would be 180 days.
However, an appeal has been made to the Board of Supervisor's by a nearby property owner asking to revoke the Special Use Permit.
Man suspected of trafficking large quantities of drugs in Carson City arrested in Reno
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 03/18/2019 - 4:53pmMultiple agencies including the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team and the TriNet Narcotics Task Force arrested a man Friday in Reno on multiple drug possession and trafficking charges after he had allegedly been transporting large quantities of narcotics to the Carson City area since early January, a sheriff's sergeant said.
Board of Supervisors to discuss homeless teens, park funding and more

Carson City father jailed after toddlers in diapers found wandering late Saturday night

CARSON CITY — The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department will begin demolition on the existing playground and picnic shelter at Ross Gold Park beginning March 25. The playground is over 25 years old and does not meet current playground safety guidelines.

The film stars Cary Grant and Claudette Colbert in a lighthearted "road movie" long before Hope and Crosby came along.
The doors of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall (511 W. King Street) open at 6 p.m.; intro and trivia at 6:30 p.m. and the film showing at 7 p.m. General admission is $4 per person and the popcorn is always free!
Celebrating the Life of Carol Cronenberger

Born to Harold and Evelyn Beeson in Oroville, Calif., Carol spent her childhood in the hard scrabble lumber camp of Grays Flat in the Feather River Canyon and later in Marysville, where Harold continued his life’s work as a sawmill planer. The Beesons moved to Reno in 1951, where Carol graduated from Reno High School in 1955 and the University of Nevada, Reno in 1959.
Carson City Mint 150 lecture, programs featured Saturday

Recognizing March is also Women’s History Month, the museum is presenting the lecture “Women Workers of the Carson City U.S. Mint,” as its March “Mint150” event. The museum’s curator of history, Bob Nylen, will present the lecture at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16.

Free self defense class this Saturday at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center

We have scheduled a self-defense class. The class will be upstairs in the Brewery Arts Ballroom, 449 King Street, Carson City. The instructor is Sean Morey, a martial arts teacher. Please wear comfortable clothing, and invite anyone you think would benefit from and enjoy this presentation. This event is free, however a $5 donation for the instructor is appreciated.
