Sheriff's Log: Two arrests for felony credit card fraud

- Eric Anthony Weber, 42, was arrested Thursday afternoon near Mark Way and Shady Tree Lane on a warrant alleging five felony counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, a gross misdemeanor count of conspiracy, and misdemeanor probation violation. His bail was set at $8,000.
Governor’s Office of Energy partners to bring free power to Carson City electric vehicles

The newly-installed electric vehicle charging station can be found at Carson City’s Mills Park, in the parking lot between the Community Center and Aquatics Center.
Carson City deputies make multiple misdemeanor arrests over extended holiday weekend

The man allegedly took two pairs of jeans, a sweater, socks and a long sleeve shirt from a department store in the 3800 block of Carson Street.
Two Carson City men jailed on felony charges after drug sting meth sale
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 12/16/2013 - 10:35amTwo Carson City men were arrested Dec. 13, 1:19 p.m. at East Long and Rand Street. Gregory John Modugno, 59, and Charles William Jameson, face multiple felony drug charges after being arrested during a sting operation where there was a transaction of methamphetamine.
According to the arrest report, cooperating sources made contact with Modugno who stated he would sell approximately a gram of methamphetamine for $100. The source stated Modugno would pick up the money from the source and meet them nearby to purchase the meth.
Road closures, utility work in Carson City lined up through Dec. 22

There will be lane closures at the following locations Monday through Friday. Traffic control measures will be in effect. There will also be sidewalk closures and detours will be signed.
The closures will be at the following places:
Westbound Long Street between Roop Street and Marian Street.
Northbound Roop Street between Adams Street and Beverly Drive.

South Lake Tahoe man faces felony stalking, three gross misdemeanor charges

Todd Christian Robben was transported Nov. 9, 11 a.m. from El Dorado County Jail to Carson City Jail on a Carson Township warrant. Robben had signed a waiver of extradition in Superior Court in the state of California, according to the arrest report.

Officers with the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on an unregistered Dodge Ram traveling eastbound on Highway 50 East.
Man faces felony drug sales charges after officers find Ecstasy, marijuana in search
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 11/04/2013 - 1:53pmA Carson City man on probation and with a n outstanding warrant for his arrest faces felony drug charges, including intent to sell after authorities found 3 grams of MDMA, also known as "Ecstasy" or "Molly" and several empty pills capsules during a search of his apartment.
Mark Emory Samuels, 27, was arrested Friday, Nov. 1, 8:18 p.m. in the 400 block of East Long Street.
According to the arrest report, officers with the Special Enforcement Team made contact with the man at his residence on a confirmed warrant from Carson City Justice Court for violation of a suspended sentence.

Carson City deputies busy with handful of weekend felony arrests

Christopher James Thompson, 33, was arrested in the 2500 block of South Carson Street at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. Thompson was stopped for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic, the arrest report states.

Senior Mingle to collect shoes for Carson City students

This month, guests are asked to bring a new pair of athletic shoes to donate as part of the Lodge’s annual SOLEmates Shoe Drive. The shoes will be donated to the Carson City School District’s McKinney/Vento Children in Transition program.
Woman jailed for felony drug charge, driving on a revoked license

Tosha Nicole Whiting was stopped by Carson City sheriff's Special Enforcement Team after deputies saw that she was driving without a license plate light during the hours of darkness.
Carson City man jailed on felony warrant after skipping sentencing hearing
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 09/12/2013 - 9:47amA 20-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City Jail on Wednesday with two outstanding warrants, including a felony in which he had failed to appear for his sentencing hearing on a charge of attempted burglary.
Jordon Michael Galloway was booked at 4:56 p.m. Sept. 11 on the felony charge and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $23,000.

The man was arrested at 9:20 p.m., Sept. 7 in the 900 block of Woodside Drive. According to arrest report, officers were in the area attempting to locate the man, a known gang member, following a fight earlier in which he fled from officers.
Carson City man jailed for allegedly producing pornography involving a minor

Ivan Botello was arrested Aug. 30, 7:47 a.m. at a Granite Way address. Bail has been set at $100,000. The arrest was based on a confirmed warrant out of Carson City Justice Court dated Aug. 28.
The arrest warrant alleges the crimes of unlawful use of a minor in producing pornography, a category A felony and unlawful promotion of sexual performance of a minor, also a category A felony.
The Lodge Assisted Living Community to sponsor SOLEmates Shoe Drive

The second annual event, which runs through September, benefits students enrolled in the Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento/Children in Transition program.
The grant and donation funded program helps to provide shoes, clothing, hygiene products and school supplies to students who lack a fixed living situation. The program helped nearly 600 students last school year and is expected to help the same number or more this year.
The Lodge to host seminar on veteran’s long-term care benefits

Carson City road construction report for week of July 8-14

Beginning Monday, July 8, there will be nightly lane closures on South Carson Street between Koontz Lane and US Highway 50 W (Spooner Junction) between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Once the work on Carson Street is complete, Frontage Road will be permanently closed from Arthur Street to just south of Snyder Avenue. However, access will be maintained for businesses and residences. This will likely occur mid to late-week.

Detours will be signed. In addition, the JAC bus routes 2A and 2B will be re-routed to follow the detour route and the bus stops on Lompa Lane and Menlo Drive will be temporarily closed during the road closure.
There will be road work on Long Street between Humboldt Lane and Rand Avenue. No delays are expected.

Portion of Carson City Freeway to close Monday night for maintenance
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 06/16/2013 - 8:36pmA portion of the Carson City Freeway will be closed Monday beginning at 8 p.m. and running through 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, city officials said.
The Carson City Freeway will be closed from the U.S. Highway 50 East/William Street interchange to the Fairview Drive interchange because of maintenance.
Detours will be signed routing southbound freeway traffic west on William Street and south on to Carson Street. If necessary, the freeway will be closed Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, during the same hours, until the project is complete.

Two jailed after drug-fueled assault on Carson City officers
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Fri, 06/14/2013 - 10:16amTwo men were arrested early Friday morning in the 1800 block of Long Street in Carson City and face multiple charges, including battery on police officers and resisting arrest. A 20-year-old Carson City man later told officers both had been under the influence of LSD and marijuana.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area of 1800 East Long Street late Thursday night after reports came in of a man screaming and stating he had a bloody nose.

Due to continued construction of the Carson City Freeway project, Snyder Avenue is closed between E. Roland Street and Center Drive. Center Drive and Silver Sage Drive are also closed south of Appion Way.
Bennett Avenue is closed between Ponderosa Drive and Bigelow Drive. Bigelow Drive has been permanently closed between Roland Street and Bennett Avenue. Detours are signed.
