Carson City weekend arrests include misdemeanor assault on officer, disorderly conduct

A 19-year-old Carson City man faces five misdemeanor charges including assaulting a police officer after he barricaded himself inside his father's bedroom, with the father asking officers to have his son removed.

The man was arrested at 9:20 p.m., Sept. 7 in the 900 block of Woodside Drive. According to arrest report, officers were in the area attempting to locate the man, a known gang member, following a fight earlier in which he fled from officers.

While looking for the suspect, officers met with the man's father who asked officers for help with his son who was inside the apartment and causing problems, the arrest report states. The father said he believed his son was under the influence of alcohol.

Officers also met with several others in the area, all stating they have been having problems with the young man during the past several days, however, they feared retaliation and would not provide on-the-record statements, the arrest report states.

The father of the man walked to the upstairs apartment door and unlocked it. He then discovered something was block the doorway and talked to his son while standing outside of the door. The man stated his son was inside and refused to come out. The father gave officers permission to enter the apartment from the rear slide door, the arrest report states.

Because the man had fled the scene of the fight earlier, he faced a charge of obstructing. Dispatch was contacted with the information and was asked to check with alternative sentencing, which then advised they would put a hold on the man for two counts of probation violation.

Deputies made entry into the apartment from the rear sliding door. The man was in the bedroom that was locked and had item pushed against the door to prevent anyone from coming inside, the arrest report states. Deputies talked to the man through the door, instructing him to open it, the arrest report states.

Officers then again met with the man's father to establish who the bedroom belonged to. The father stated the bedroom was his own (the father's) and not his son's. The father stated that he wanted his son out of the apartment and gave officers permission to enter.

Officers made contact with the man who subsequently unlocked the door, but then began to struggle with deputies on the bed, kicking his feet at them. The man was told to stop resisting, but he continued and kicked deputies in a violent way, the arrest report states. A deputy delivered a contact taser to the man, at which time he stopped and began to comply.

He was taken into custody and transported to jail where he was booked for misdemeanor charges of obstructing, assault on a police officer, resisting with violence, and two count of arrest of a probationer. The man was not under the influence of alcohol however he told officers that he would be "dirty" for drugs. Bail: $8,186.

The woman stated the hair belonged to her and said she wanted to collect her hair before she left. Officers observed the woman picking up hair and placing it in her purse, the arrest report states.

The woman then walked into the bar and the officer walked in the bar behind her. The officer observed the woman walk over toward an employee who was cleaning up the bar. The woman approached the employee and then the woman began to dig through the trash. Officers asked the woman to go back outside and wait for the cab. The woman then charged the employee, yelling and screaming, knocking over the trash can and yelling at employees and patrons inside the bar. Officers again ordered the woman to leave the bar, but the woman continued yelling profanities and challenging bar staff and patrons to fight, the arrest report states.

She was placed into handcuffs and escorted out of the bar. The woman kicked and screamed from the bar to the patrol car.
