Streaming video available through Carson City Library

Carson City Library patrons can now check out digital copies of movies though the OverDrive system available to card holders.

“We’ve been using the OverDrive platform for about five years for e-books and e-audiobooks,” said Amy Lauder, collection development manager. “We’ve just now added streaming video.”

Carson City Salvation Army launches annual backpack and school supply drive

The Salvation Army is collecting backpacks and school supplies for disadvantaged children through August 17. Children from Carson City, Douglas County and Lyon County will receive backpacks and school supplies as needed. The Salvation Army will have a distribution of the back packs and a large portion of the back packs collected will be given directly to the School Districts for distribution to children in transition.

Carson City – Amid increased campaign momentum, Carson City resident Chris Forbush officially declared his candidacy for Assembly District 40 on March 18th.

Since being the first candidate to announce his bid for the Assembly seat back in January, Forbush has been building a strong organization prepared to reach every Republican voter in the District in person before the Republican Primary on June 14th.
