As Campaign Momentum Increases, Republican Chris Forbush Files Declaration of Candidacy for State Assembly
Carson City – Amid increased campaign momentum, Carson City resident Chris Forbush officially declared his candidacy for Assembly District 40 on March 18th.
Since being the first candidate to announce his bid for the Assembly seat back in January, Forbush has been building a strong organization prepared to reach every Republican voter in the District in person before the Republican Primary on June 14th.
“When people meet Chris, within minutes they not only tell him he has their vote, but they come up to me and tell me that they are available whenever, wherever, and however we need them to get Chris elected,” said Janice Baldwin, a former president of the Carson City Republican Women who has provided courses on the Constitution for nine years in the community. “They want us to tell them when and where we will need them to knock doors, make phone calls, host Meet & Greet meetings at their homes, and they even ask us to let them pay for Chris’ campaign expenses. It’s exciting.”
When asked about the momentum of his campaign, Forbush smiled and explained that every day it just keeps growing. “My message is resonating with the voters of Carson City and Washoe Valley, my neighbors here in my district,” Forbush stated. “Everyone is obviously incensed that my opponent, the incumbent, raised their taxes. Everyone knows they are paying more for everything they buy because of him, and that some of their friends and family have lost jobs or had to close businesses because of him. They are hurting and angry. My message to them, when I meet them, is that I am doing everything in my power to undo these taxes and save their jobs and businesses. I am also doing what I can to help in the effort to resist and roll back federal abuse with respect to public lands, and to preserve, protect, and defend the property rights of Nevadans. I am also preparing ahead of time to help restructure the state budget in a way that will provide more money for our community colleges while allowing for tax cuts. When these people hear my message, they change from being hurt and angry to being hopeful and they get on board with enthusiasm. In the parlance of Donald Trump, they see, in my campaign, an opportunity to win and make Nevada great again.”
Forbush is a former personal fitness training small business owner who also worked as an intern for two state legislative sessions while in school. Forbush graduated with Honors from Brigham Young University law school debt free.
