In close coordination with Carson City Health and Human Services, the City Manager’s Office along with City departments in an abundance of caution are coordinating the closure of some offices to take additional measures to slow the spread of respiratory viruses. As closures are announced please visit carson.org/covid19 for information and updates about government services.
Easter baskets for Carson City, Douglas and Lyon County children in need sought by local organization

Carson City Aquatic Center's second annual Underwater Egg Hunt went swimmingly
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 04/20/2019 - 2:12pmFor the second year in a row, the Carson City Aquatic Center's Underwater Egg Hunt was a hit, and some could say, went off swimmingly.
Three hundred children pre-registered for the event, which was held in timed sessions in both the main pool and the tot pool. Eggs were dispersed at the pool's surface as well as sunken eggs which children dove for.

Track prep has been slow going but heck or high water pushing to make this happen. So now, Carson City BMX Open House is scheduled for Saturday, 20 April 2019, 1-4 pm and start our 2019 season on Sunday, 21 April 2019, signups 9-10 am (must be a USABMX member).
There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, bring your basket. For more info, come to the Open House or email CCBMX@aol.com or leave a message/contact number at 775-246-3660.

Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Tue, 04/02/2019 - 12:15pmThe Underwater Egg Hunt is back! Join Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space as they go on an egg hunt at the Carson City Aquatic Facility on Saturday, April 20.
Some eggs will be floating on top of the pool, some will be at the bottom of the pool. Egg hunts will be separated by age group in various pools at the Carson Aquatic Facility. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m.
Registration is required in advance this year. You can register at www.carson.org/ccpr
The event is free and open to children up to 12-years of age. Children 6 and under must be with a participating adult.
Easter egg basket goodies sought for kids staying at Carson City abuse shelter

They will deliver the Easter baskets and the candy-filled plastic eggs for an egg hunt on Saturday, April 20.
Easter Egg Hunt at Marine Housing Coleville
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 04/06/2018 - 6:38amSierra-Tahoe Branch and Unit #137 of the Fleet Reserve Association hosted the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Marine Corp Mountain Training Center, Housing Area, Coleville, CA which was well received by the children and parents.
The Branch & Auxiliary members prepared 600 plastic eggs and stuffed them with candy and small toys. In addition, one of the members made bunnies out of washcloths which the children can use instead of an ice pack (also known as boo-boo bunnies).

Hopefully, Mother Nature will be kind and let the track dry out so that we may complete the prep work.
So, fingers crossed, first race of the season is scheduled for Sunday, April 1 with sign-ups from 9-10 a.m. Racing begins shortly thereafter.
There will be an Easter egg hunt as well as a bunny hop contest. So get your bikes tuned up, find your gear, grab your helmet, and let's race!
