Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza hops to McFadden Plaza in Carson City
It was a hop, skip and jump in Carson City on Thursday afternoon as Scoups Ice Cream and Soup Bar teamed up with the Carson City Classic Cinema Club to bring plenty of family-friendly Easter fun to the downtown area.
The Easter Eggstravaganza hunt kicked-off at 2 p.m. at Bob McFadden Plaza. The event runs to 5 p.m., where kids of all ages collect an assortment of eggs dropped in plastic bags and woven baskets.
After the hunt, participants had the option of face paintings, arts and crafts, entering a raffle or taking a memorable photo with the Easter Bunny.
To cap-off the fun and festivities, the movie “Easter Parade” will be presented for families at 6:30 p.m.
Cinema-goers are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for the movie viewing. Preferred VIP seating is available on a first come, first served basis in Bella Fiore Wines outdoor dining area for $5 per person. That fee includes free popcorn. Money collected is donated by Bella Fiore Wines back to Carson City Classic Cinema.
Scoups owner and head-organizer Kimberly Landry described the overall success of the first half of the day's event.
“It was really nice to see how many people came out and enjoyed themselves,” she said. “And I was really happy to see the kids have so much fun out there.”
