Easter egg hunts planned for downtown Carson City, railroad museum and aquatic center
A number of Easter egg hunts are planned around the capital city beginning this weekend with the "Downtown EGGstravaganza" hosted by the Carson City Downtown Business Association.
The following weekend will feature an underwater egg hunt at the Carson City Aquatic Facility and the blockbuster two-day “Egg-stra Special Express,” hosted by the Nevada State Railroad Museum.
This Saturday's Downtown EGGstravaganza is from 1 to 3 p.m. and open to children ages 3 to 8 who are guided by a bunny trail to participating Carson City Downtown Business Association businesses to collect Easter eggs stuffed with goodies and raffle tickets.
Kids can hunt for hidden letters along the way to solve the word scramble and receive an extra raffle ticket. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be available at the Laxalt Plaza by Laura Main from Storytime Photography.
Parents and adults can begin the fun by picking up an Easter Egg map at one of the following locations:
— Scoups Ice Cream & Soup Bar, 224 S. Carson Street
— Rustically Divine Vintage Market and DIY Studio, 410 N Carson St. Suite 101.
— The Purple Avocado, 904 N Curry St.
This event is free to participants and is recommended for children 3 to 8 years of age. Eggs may contain small items. Raffle winners will be drawn on April 16 and contacted by phone.
Next there's the Carson City Parks and Recreation Underwater Egg Hunt, 2 p.m. Saturday April 20. Join Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space as they go on an egg hunt at the Carson City Aquatic Facility, 841 North Roop Street on Saturday, April 20. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Registration is required in advance this year.
Online registration is required. You can register at: www.carson.org/ccpr
The event is free and open to children up to 12-years of age. Children 6 and under must be with a participating adult. Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space thanks Carson City Toyota for sponsoring this event.
