With Easter just days away, the bonnets, baskets, eggs, and bunnies are about to descend. Here is a sneak peek at where to find the fun in Carson City, Douglas, Dayton, and Virginia City. Most all of the egg hunts are free, but I've made sure to include an entry price if one exists. I’ve listed them by start time, and have the town listed first to make an event near you easy to locate.

SATURDAY, April 15:

Moose Lodge to Host 39th annual Easter Egg Hunt succeeding Kiwanis of Carson City

Nine years ago, the Kiwanis Club of Carson City, established in 1959, were approached by the Jaycee’s of Carson City. For 30 years they had sponsored and provided the annual Easter Egg Hunt, primarily at Governor’s Field on Easter Sunday.

Easter Egg Hunt at Lahontan State Recreation Area

Silver Springs, NV. – Lahontan State Recreation Area is proud to host its 22nd annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 15. This popular family event includes candy, prizes and photos with the Easter Bunny. Due to generous donations from local businesses and residents, the park plans to hide several thousand eggs this year.

The last day of March and we are all itching for some springtime weather. Luckily, we have some nice days ahead. Dust off that motorcycle and head down to Bike Night at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar. Enjoy an afternoon hike with Muscle Powered. The Kiwanis Club just pulled off their big annual Easter Egg Hunt and is always looking for civic minded community members to join: they meet every Thursday at Casino Fandango. If beer brewing is an interest, then check out the monthly meeting of the 395 Brewers at Just Brew It.

Kiwanis Club of Carson City's 38th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Kiwanis, Carson City, Reno Aces, Archie, Easter Egg, Egg Hunt

Kiwanis Club of Carson City hosted its 38th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Centennial Park on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Hundreds of gathers attended this event and took part in the egg hunt. Local country station, KBUL 98.1FM, emceed the event.

Reno Aces mascot, Archie, was on hand for pictures as well as entertainment for the kids. Carson High School's Key Club provided the Easter Bunny for photos. Kiwanis Club of Carson City provided more than twenty volunteers to ensure this event would be successful.

Easter egg hunt this Saturday at Washoe Lake State Park

WASHOE VALLEY, Nev. – Hop over to Washoe Lake State Park this Saturday for an Easter celebration hosted by the South Valley Volunteer Fire Department. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and the egg hunt will begin at 12:30 p.m. sharp. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Meet at the Group Use Area pavilion. Park entrance fees are waived for this event.

Easter weekend activities and egg hunt at Nevada Railroad Museum

Celebrate Easter at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City on Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27.

Events include: an Easter egg hunt with a special prize (one egg per child, please); a craft table with coloring pages and children can build their own candy trains; and story time with a railroad-themed children's book each morning at 11:00am. Easter weekend events start at 10:00am and end at 4:00pm each day. Admission is $6 for adults and FREE for children.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Lahontan State Recreation Area this Saturday

Lahontan State Recreation Area will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26. Each year, park employees and volunteers fill upward of 3,000 plastic eggs with candy and then scatter them around the day-use area of the park.

Craft Fair Mar 24-26. The Easter Bunny will be here Sunday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Saturday March 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt on Saturday March 26 at 2 p.m. starting with ages 1-4 and then ages 5-8.

The first 20 ladies to visit participating stores will receive gift certificates or discount coupons.

Carson City Sheriff’s Reserve Commander Crawford receives Governor’s Points of Light Award

Sheriff Ken Furlong is pleased to announce that Carson City Sheriff’s Office Reserve Commander Tom Crawford was the recipient of the Governor’s Points of Light Award, Volunteer Manager of the year.

Commander Crawford has been responsible for the Uniform Reserves of the Sheriff’s Office since 2005 and made significant contributions to the community as a whole. During his tenure, Tom has overseen the activities of over 150 reserves, many of whom who have gone on to become full time Deputy Sheriff’s here in the community, and surrounding jurisdictions.

Carson City's Biggest Egg-stravaganza is right around the corner! Over 16,000 candy stuffed eggs, the Easter Bunny and tons of fun to be had by families across Carson City. This is the 4th Annual Egg-stravaganza and will be held at Seeliger Elementary School (2800 S. Saliman Rd). FREE event.

The third annual Egg-stravaganza takes place Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. at Mark Twain Elementary School in Carson City.
This 16,000+ candy-filled egg hunt is a FREE event for Carson City children. Aged zones are set up for toddlers through 11 years old, with a separate zone for special needs children. Even the Easter Bunny will be there for pictures and to celebrate with the kiddos.

Capital Christian Center will host a city-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Carson High School Saturday, March 30, beginning at 10 a.m.. There will be more than 12,000 eggs for the hunt, a holiday ham give away and pictures with the Easter bunny.

They will also be using the time to “beautify” the CHS campus as with 150-plus volunteers to pull weeds, rake, sweep, etc.
