Happy Saturday Carson City, and say hello to February! That means Spring must be right around the corner! I hope so at least, because Friday’s beautiful weather was enough to make me ready to say goodbye to father winter.

We’ve got a jam packed list of events throughout the weekend, including February’s wine walk happening today!

Saturday, February 1

Heading into the Super Bowl weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the monthly downtown Carson City wine walk, plus karaoke at Bella Vita Bistro and Y-NOT Saloon. The Forest Service begins its first “Ski With a Ranger” at Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort on Friday. Combined with championship football festivities on Sunday, the Silver State is in store for a wild, good time.

Heading into last day of 2019, we're looking at partly sunny skies with a high around 50 and low around 30. Activities around the capital city region are lined up through the day and evening. Enjoy and celebrate as we prepare to toast a welcome to 2020. Also do consider a designated driver, cab ride, Lyft or Uber to be on the safe side for your ride home if out celebrating. Happy New Year!

As we head into the final Monday of 2019, we're looking at a slight chance of light snow in the morning as a weak weather system brushes the region. Events around the Carson City area include a driver's education class offered through Western Nevada College Continuing Education, a luncheon featuring Patricia Ackerman, a Democratic primary candidate for Nevada's 2nd Congressional District, art activities and more.

Heading into the weekend, post-Christmas holiday activities continue around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a Christmas Through the Years presentation at the Carson Valley Community Theater, Open Mic Night at A to Zen Gift Shop, musicians Lauren Kepler and Dan Cypher at Bella Vita Bistro, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club and much more!

Join local musician Kingwhistler and other local favorites for "Holiday Homeward with Kingwhistler and friends," a concert to celebrate the season.

Kingwhistler will be joined by Jenera Paxton and Josh Procaccini, and other guest musicians include Keith Alan Barnett, Craig Logan, Ross Wylde and Ten Dollar Pony.

Saturday, November 2

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include the second annual Evening with Divas in Carson City, a Día de Muertos celebration at the Nevada State Museum, Nevada Artists Association’s 40th anniversary celebration, paranormal ghost investigations in Virginia City, a pie baking contest in Gardnerville and much more!

Heading into Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 and we're looking at continued sunshine and cool temperatures, with some warming in time for the weekend. Activities ahead around the capital city feature a workshop by Carson City TRIAD to prepare residents for Medicare open enrollment, a Muscle Powered led afternoon hike at Sedge Road, the grand opening of My Place Hotel, modern western square dancing lessons, art showings, library activities and more. Enjoy the day.

The new My Place Hotel located at 17 Hospitality Way in Carson City will host a Grand Opening on Thursday, October 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m.

Those in attendance will be able to tour the new hotel. There will also be prizes and giveaways, hors d’oeuvres, local food trucks, adult beverages, and there with be live KOZZ classic rock.

The Carson Nugget in Carson City will present Rudy Columbini and The Unauthorized Rolling Stones, a tribute to the Rolling Stones over the Labor Day weekend.

The concert will take place Sunday, Sept. 1 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom inside the Carson Nugget, 507 North Carson Street.

Come see local Carson City musician Kingwhistler open for Americana band The Black Lillies in Virginia City at the historic Piper’s Opera House!

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to help the next three days breeze by, including the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival, Carson City Library’s End of Summer Learning Challenge, history talks at Mormon Station Park, train rides in Virginia City, a sushi cooking class at Sierra Chef on Sunday and more!

Dozens strolled the streets and soaked in the summer heat during the Carson City Downtown Wine Walk on Saturday.

Heading into Father’s Day weekend, there's plenty of jam-packed activities around the Carson City region. There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.

What a week it was Carson City, and it isn't even over yet. Heading into Friday, May 3, 2019, we're looking at continued sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s. There's a host of activities Friday and, looking ahead, a bevy of fun Saturday including a Mother's Day craft fair at the Carson City Community Center, a Star Wars themed bicycle safety day, a wine, cheese and dessert ride aboard the V&T, an early opening of the downtown farmer's market, the May Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, a memorial walk, presentations, comedy, live music and more. Enjoy.

Local artist Kingwhistler plays his first solo show in Carson City at "The Zen Den" this Saturday, May 4. Inspired by the natural beauty of the West, Kingwhistler's music is a mix of classic rock, Americana and folk.

Outdoor music season finale featuring Greg Austin at Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge, 1480 N. Carson Street in Carson City, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.

Hello Carson City, it is Friday, Sept. 28, 2018. Expect a sunny day with some afternoon breezes, and a cool evening. Among events today are a Women's Empowerment Workshop at the capital, Street Vibrations at Battle Born Harley-Davison in Carson City, a Muscle Powered hike, live music and more.

According to the calendar, summer is coming to a close but South Lake Tahoe is refusing to acknowledge it. Tahoe South will host a magnitude of events extending the season from Labor Day into October with entertainment, culinary festivals, music, outdoor recreation, competitions and a lakefront laser show.

It’s a very special Friday for the kids of Carson City: it’s the last day of summer vacation. Take full advantage of your free time and check out some of today’s activities. Live music at McFadden Plaza tonight features local cover band, Deception. The Bowers Mansion Bluegrass Festival kicks off tonight with a band in the Davis Creek Campground. The U.S. Air Force’s Jazz Ensemble performs at the Bob Boldrick Theater as part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival. Free tickets have been available at the Chamber of Commerce for a few weeks, and if any are left, their numbers will be limited.
