— Women's Empowerment Workshop, 8 a.m. Nevada Commission for Women presents a Women's Empowerment Workshop at the Nevada State Legislature, RM 3100, 401 S. Carson St., Carson City. The Nevada Commission for Women is presenting a Women's Empowerment workshop in Carson City to encourage women to get more involved with government Boards and Commissions.
— Friday Morning Walk to Mayor's Park Sponsored by Muscle Powered, 8 a.m. Join Muscle Powered for its weekly one hour walks to enjoy Nevada outdoors in Carson City. Meet in the parking lot at Governor's Field on Evalyn Street off of Roop Street. Water and closed-toe shoes required All walks are 1 to 2 miles with duration of 1 hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths.
— Street Vibrations action continues today through the weekend at Battle Born Harley Davidson in Carson City. Among the many features, including free admission, are 45 vendor booths, six food trucks, a pit barbecue, a very large beer garden, stunt shows, a poker run and more. Concerts on tap through the weekend including bands Everyday Outlaw, Tripping Kingsnakes, Greg Austin Band, Mudd Bonz, Cash Only Band, Mo Beach band and others. — Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce hosts 25th annual golf event. 11 a.m. Dayton Valley Golf Course.
The event begins with a shotgun start. It is a scramble format with 4-person teams. There will be raffle prizes, auction items, mulligans and golf tape. There will also be a cash prize for the longest drive for men and women, closest to the hole for men and women and a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Carson City Toyota. Go here for more information.

— Comedian Daniel Gabriel at the Carson Comedy Club, 8 p.m. Comedian Daniel Gabriel will be headlining the Carson Comedy Club inside the Carson Nugget in Carson City located at 507 N Carson St., Sept. 28-29. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Winners Club inside the Carson Nugget or at www.ccnugget.com.

— Daily through September, Muscle Powered is holding a membership drive to recruit new members. All new and renewing members in the month of September will be entered in a drawing to win a Gregory Hiking Day Pack.
Muscle Powered works to make Carson City healthier for all citizens and safer and more accessible for bicycling and walking through education and advocacy, the promotion of bicycle and pedestrian friendly infrastructure, and developing and maintaining recreational trails throughout the city. Muscle Powered is also responsible for organized weekly walks, hikes and bike rides, on and off road, throughout Carson City. Go here to learn more and sign up.
— Carson City Art Gallery & Pottery Mid-Month Artist Reception: Roger Freeman, 11 to 5:30 p.m. Carson City Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for September is Roger Freeman, a multi medium artist living and working in the Carson City area. During his reception you will be able to meet him and talk to him about his wonderful work. 110 S. Curry St. Carson City.
— Student Art Exhibition: The Wind Calls, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative (CCAI) announces it’s exhibition, The Wind Calls featuring nine University of Nevada, Reno, students’ work. The free exhibition is available to the public through October 9, 2018, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm. It is held at the BRIC, 108 E Proctor St., Carson City. The Wind Calls includes work by Mahedi Anjuman, Nicki Bracco, Mark Combs, Teal Francis, Hannah Huntley, Gwaylon Leaf, Frances Melhop, Ally Messer, and Carla Miller. The artists used a wide variety of art media including mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, and photography to make their art and comments on contemporary life and society.
— The Capital City Arts Initiative, also known as CCAI, presents its exhibition, "Jenny Raven: The Creative Growth Years 1979 - 1984" with artwork by artist Jenny Raven in the city’s Community Center Sierra Room, 851 E William Street, Carson City. The exhibition is available to the public through October 18, 2018. The Sierra Room is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Capital City Arts Initiative presents “Visual Oasis: Works from Creative Growth" at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery in Carson City. The exhibition, with art by 17 artists, will be in the gallery Monday through Friday until Sept. 27, 2018. The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Live Music at Glen Eagle Restaurant, Live Music Wednesday starting at 6:30 and continuing until 10 p.m. 3700 N. Carson St., Carson City.
— Outdoor music season finale featuring Greg Austin at Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge, 1480 N. Carson Street in Carson City, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.
