Carson City sheriff's arrest log for Thursday

Here are the most recent arrests and bookings from the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

A 22-year-old Carson City man, Madison Ray McGlynn, was arrested Wednesday, 3:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of East Long Street on a felony burglary warrant issued Nov. 20, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court and two misdemeanor warrants, contempt of court, and failure to appear, each issued July 9, 2013. Bail: $20,687.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Man jailed on felony charge after allegedly breaking woman's rib

A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony domestic battery after an incident Monday that sent a woman to the hospital with a broken rib, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Edwin Stanley Scrivner was being held in Carson City Jail on $15,000 bail after he was arrested at 2:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of South Carson Street. According to the arrest report, officers were called Monday afternoon to an Adams Street home after a woman reported Scrivner had “crushed” her chest during a domestic dispute.

Care Flight called after pedestrian struck by car at Adams and Carson Street

UPDATE: Care Flight was called Monday night to an accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Adams and Carson Street. The call to dispatch came in at 8:05 p.m. The 37-year-old adult male victim suffered life threatening injuries.

Arriving Carson City firefighters gave aid to the victim and transported him to the Carson City Airport where a Care Flight air ambulance flew him to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Carson City public safety agencies to stage second emergency response exercise Sunday

The second and final “active assailant response” exercise this year will be staged Sunday at the Carson City Courthouse. The training event will focus on response to an active assailant incident using a unified approach, said Stacey Belt, deputy emergency manager for Carson City. The first exercise was Nov. 15.

A 45-year-old Carson City man, Kevin Edward Burrows, was arrested Thursday, 3:57 p.m. in the 500 block of Jackson Way on a felony warrant, violation of bail conditions, issued Nov. 18, 2014 out of East Fork Township Court. Bail: $10,000.

The following are the latest bookings by the Carson City Sheriff's Office.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 11:36 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, the man had been climbing on the roof of the complex yelling at his neighbors. It had been going on for the past few nights, the arrest report states. Bail: $242.

Carson City public safety agencies stage shooting scenario exercise

The first of two “active assailant response” exercises was staged Saturday at the Carson City Courthouse. The scenario involved two shooters in camouflage who walked through the three story courthouse, shooting city employees and members of the public in their path as they went courtroom to courtroom.

The shooters were taken out with gunfire by Department of Alternative Sentencing officers and Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies within two minutes of the scenario, but not after leaving a bloody path of fatally and critically injured victims.

Carson City Sheriff: Man, 18, convinces suicidal teen to put down gun at incident near Carson High

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong released the following information this evening about an incident in front of Carson High School this afternoon in which a 16-year-old student had a gun and was threatening to shoot himself as school prepared to let out. The release is as follows:

Carson City sheriff's deputies detained a juvenile at around 2:20 this afternoon after he was seen holding a gun to his head in an apartment complex across from Carson High School.

Traffic along Saliman was closed temporarily and then reopened to one lane of traffic. The high school was notified of the situation and advised to lock down. The advisory has since been lifted.

One dead, one flown by Care Flight in grave condition after motorcycle crash with pedestrian in Carson City

UPDATE: One person is dead from injuries in a crash Tuesday night involving a motorcycle and pedestrian at Stewart and Telegraph streets, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed. The pedestrian, an older adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist, also a male adult, was taken by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno where they are suffering serious, grave injuries, Furlong said. The crash was reported at 5:27 p.m.

Sgt. Earl Mays said it appears the pedestrian was in the crosswalk when he was struck by the motorcyclist. The Nevada Highway Patrol is also at the scene investigating.

UPDATE: One person was flown by Care Flight and another having suffered serious injuries following a crash Tuesday night involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian at Stewart and Telegraph streets. CPR was being administered to one of the victims, while another was taken by ambulance to a landing zone near the DMV where a Care Flight helicopter has taken them to Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log for Tuesday

A 43-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Tuesday morning in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive on a charge of first offense domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area after a witness observed the woman chase her boyfriend and batter him by slapping and punching him in the face.

The witness stated the woman’s boyfriend tried to defend himself, attempting to deflect her slaps and punches. The witness filled out a statement regarding what they saw.

Carson City sheriff's weekend arrest report

A 23-year-old transient, Kyle William Krites, was arrested Nov. 6, 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a felony warrant issued out of Lyon County, Oct. 7, 2014, alleging statutory sexual seduction, a class C felony, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said. He was being held without bail awaiting a hearing.

A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 9:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of Woodside Drive on three misdemeanor warrants issued May 9, 2014 out of East Fork Township Court. The warrants are for battery, resisting arrest and trespassing. Bail: $1,000.

— A Carson City man, Gavin Knight, already in jail on other charges, was booked Wednesday, 1:10 p.m. on a felony warrant charge, possession of a controlled substance, issued Nov. 3, 2014 out of Western Regional Drug Court. No bail hold on the charge.

Carson City Sheriff: Nevada Day weekend sees uptick in alcohol and drug related arrests

Law enforcement and public safety issues associated with Nevada Day in Carson City have been "unusually tasking" this weekend, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. While the parade itself was calm for the most part, there was a significant uptick in alcohol and drug related arrests after the parade ended and when afternoon turned to evening.

Care Flight called to accident on I-580 and Highway 50 ramp

UPDATE: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said witnesses to the accident on the Carson City Freeway this afternoon were interviewed to determine if it was a hit and run that caused the rollover accident at the ramp.
A portion of the freeway was closed earlier this afternoon to southbound traffic due to cleanup and a subsequent investigation.

Carson City sheriff's detectives ask for help in locating runaway teen

Carson City sheriff's detectives are looking for a teenager who is believed to have run away and is asking the public for help. Dakota Maiden, 15, was last seen on Oct. 20, 2014.

Dakota left his residence on Woodside Drive and failed to show up for school, said Carson City Sheriff's Office Detective Steve Olson.

A 23-year-old Gardnerville woman was booked Monday, noon, into Carson City Jail on two misdemeanor warrants, petit larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Oct. 22, 2014. Bail: $1,000.

— A 37-year-old Wellington woman was booked Monday, noon, into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court, issued Oct. 13, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

Carson City sheriff's weekend arrest log

A 29-year-old Carson City man, DeWayne Rey, was arrested Friday, 10:34 p.m. in the area of Woodside and Stanton on a felony charge of violation of probation conditions. According to the arrest report, deputies with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team were in the area and observed a dark color sedan with nonfunctioning license plate lights.

Longtime Carson City businessman, elected leader Pete Livermore dies

Pete Livermore, a longtime Carson City elected leader and business owner, died Monday at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was 73.

Livermore was a Nevada Assemblyman who decided this year that he would not seek re-election. He began in the Assembly District 40 on Feb. 7 2011. Before that, Livermore was a member of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, 1998-2010; was Mayor pro Tem, Carson City, 2004-2006.

Carson City deputies arrest second person involved in Honda Accord thefts

A second person has been arrested in connection to at least two Honda Accord thefts, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Jonathan Baumgardner, 31, was arrested Sunday in the 3000 block of Melanie Lane and faces five felony charges, including two counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, auto burglary and tampering. He’s being held on $75,000 bail.

Man jailed on suspicion of felony hit and run after bicycle crash involving Carson High student

A 69-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony hit and run causing injury after a collision with a Carson High student on a bicycle in the 1100 block of Saliman Road, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested was Kulwant Singh Mand with a bail amount of $40,000. According to the arrest report, officers were notified of a hit and run that happened at the high school at 7:42 a.m., and a juvenile who was declining paramedics but was going to the nurses’s office because she was having trouble walking, her leg hurt and she was having back pain.

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 10:25 p.m. in the 1400 block of Spooner Drive on felony suspicion of domestic battery with strangulation.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to a home regarding a dispute that escalated.

Carson City sheriff's detectives seek information on casino burglary suspect

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a burglary that happened Monday at the Nugget Casino. At approximately 11:18 p.m., the suspect in these photos entered the Carson Nugget, made his way through the casino and broke into a lock box and stole approximately $1,600 in Nugget Casino $1 tokens/coins.

The lock box was positioned in the center of an island of slot machine, which was used by the suspect as cover while he broke into the lock box with a Kobalt brand pry bar.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log for Tuesday

A Carson City man was arrested Monday on a felony home invasion charge after he allegedly pushed through the front door of a residence, entering the home without permission, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Chris Kaecker, 26, is being held on $33,000 bail. He also faces a gross misdemeanor charge of domestic battery and a misdemeanor charge of being arrested while on probation.

Sheriff: Arrests down in Carson City over busy Street Vibrations weekend

Even with beefed up patrols in Carson City this weekend for the Street Vibrations motorcycle rally, riders were not involved in any significant arrests during its peak Friday, Saturday and early Sunday, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

“The crowds were happy, they were here for the events and nobody was here to cause a problem,” said Furlong. ”We had extraordinary patrol coverage everywhere this weekend and we were well prepared for any incident to come up and it never did.”

A Gardnerville woman was arrested Monday on a felony charge of giving an officer false identification information after she was detained for shoplifting at Walmart, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Ashlee Nicole Karow, 22, also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, petit larceny and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear in a Douglas County court.
