Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Woman arrested for felony probation violation

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Sarah Nicholson-Jones, 36 of Carson City, Tuesday night on South Park Drive for felony parole and probation violation, and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area on a report of a suspicious vehicle. They contacted the two subjects in the vehicle, and found that Nicholson-Jones had an outstanding warrant. In addition, Parole and Probation wanted her held on a violation charge. She is being held without bail.

Carson City sheriff's deputies place three in custody facing home invasion charges

UPDATE 9:45PM: A 19-year-old man and two male juveniles face charges of felony home invasion after allegedly breaking into a Siskiyou Drive home Monday night, said Carson City Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Humphrey.

After detectives interviewed the subjects, it was determined they are not the ones believed to be involved in a rash of residential burglaries that have happened primarily on the west side of Carson City, said Humphrey. Investigators learned the suspects knew the person living at the home and knew of property inside they wanted to steal.

The following are the most recent arrests made by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office: A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 3:22 p.m. at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street for allegedly violating terms of her parole and probation agreement.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the store in reference to a report of subjects stealing items.

Sheriff: Smith's store evacuated briefly after man crawls through, falls out of ceiling

A man was arrested Wednesday night after crawling through and falling out of the ceiling at Smith's market forcing the evacuation of the store, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

The call came into dispatch at 9:22 p.m. at the Smith's store at 599 East William Street in Carson City. Store employees reported a man was acting erratically and may have a gun.

According to Furlong the man had a altercation with someone in the store. The store was evacuated immediately. The suspect then took off and went into the ceiling of the store by the time officers arrived.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Woman arrested for obstructing officers dealing with suicidal subject

A 40-year-old woman from Waterloo, Iowa was arrested by Carson City Sheriff's deputies for misdemeanor obstruction Tuesday night.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a report of a suicidal woman armed with a steak knife in the 200 block of Jeanell Drive. The reporting party was hiding in another bedroom out of the fear of the subject.

Deputies who contacted the suicidal subject confirmed she had a knife, but was at first calm. One of the deputies tried to talk her into coming outside without the knife in her hand.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Four jailed Sunday on disorderly, obstructing charges

Four men were arrested on misdemeanor charges Sunday night including disorderly conduct and obstructing after officers were called to an apartment complex at 20 College Parkway regarding a noise complaint, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, officers were called at 11:12 p.m. to the area in reference to a noise complaint. Upon arrival a deputy stated he heard subjects making a lot of noise on the west side of the complex.

Carson City sheriff's weekend arrests: Man tasered after vehicle, foot chase

A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday in the area of Robinson and Valley streets on suspicion of felony eluding after a vehicle and foot pursuit with officers, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Randy Paul Warstler also faces five misdemeanor charges including obstructing an officer, driving with a revoked license, suspended registration, having no proof on insurance and violation of a suspended sentence. He was arrested at 3:52 a.m.

Carson City and Lyon County Deputies arrested a man suspected in a stabbing that happened early Friday morning at a Carson City bar.

Maxwell Thomas Scott Simon, 32, faces a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon and is on $30,000 bail, after an altercation at the Whiskey Tavern on Highway 50 East in Carson City, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

According to the arrest report, an officer stopped the bicyclist for not having a head lamp after he was observed crossing Highway 50 East in front of a casino.

Deputies, GATE students partner for a day at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office

School children from Carson and Eagle Valley middle schools involved with the Gifted and Academically Talented Education program took a walk on the side of the law Wednesday to get a glimpse of three areas of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office: The Gang Unit, K9 and Special Enforcement Team, and the Mounted Posse.

It was the second year the sheriff’s office has worked with GATE students. Last year, the program focused on the K9 Unit, but this year, Lt. Brian Humphrey said he wanted to incorporate two more layers of the sheriff’s office for the kids to learn.

According to the arrest report, the 57-year-old man was stopped on a traffic violation, failing to use a turn signal. The man acknowledged the violation by saying he did not feel it was necessary to use a turn signal when changing lanes because he did not see another vehicle in the lane he was merging into, the arrest report states.

Carson City Sheriff's Office conducted a Crosswalk Enforcement Operation Tuesday that resulted in 29 individuals being stopped, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel.

Carson City officers investigate gunfire in the area of Rand and Long streets

Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest four in purse robbery involving 99-year-old victim

Several arrests have been made in connection with a 99-year-old woman who was robbed earlier this month of her purse and several hundred dollars in cash, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Thursday.

On Dec. 4 the sheriff’s office responded to the report of a robbery in the 600 block of East Spear Street, near downtown Carson City. At the scene, the 99-year-old elderly victim reported that a female had confronted her in her garage and forcefully took her purse.

A Mill Valley, Calif., man was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Sunday at East Musser at Carson Street on suspicion of DUI, speeding and driving with a suspended or revoked license, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The vehicle was stopped after being clocked going 50 mph in a 35 and 48 mph in a 25 mph zone, according to the arrest report. The driver was contacted where he identified himself with a California driver’s license that came back suspended.

Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest three on felony robbery and kidnapping charges

Three people were arrested Thursday on felony charges in connection with an alleged kidnapping and robbery that happened at a Menlo Drive residence on Nov. 23 and may have involved as many as seven people.

Lawrence “Ears” Reagan, 29, Crystal Gonzales-Rubke, 24, and Randall Saucedo, 30, were arrested on warrants issued out Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 of Carson City Justice Court. Each are being held on $200,000 bail. The three are from Carson City.

Carson City sheriff's crime report for Thursday

A 23-year-old transient, Sean Paul McCracken, was arrested Tuesday, 4:05 p.m. at Selby and La Loma streets on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, an officer stopped the vehicle for an expired license tag and made contact with the driver. The officer smelled a light odor of marijuana and asked the man about it. The man told the officer he had a “roach” in the ashtray. The officer asked if that was all he had. The man said yes.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying an unknown man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a residential burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card occurring last week in the Carson area.

Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest three in separate DUI incidents

A Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday morning in 1500 block Sharon Drive on a felony parole and probation charge after admitting that he had smoked methamphetamine, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested was Galvin Knight. He was taken to jail and is being held without bail pending a hearing through state parole and probation. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the Sharon Drive residence to assist paramedics on a medical call.

Carson City Sheriff's Office targets impaired drivers, crosswalk violators in December

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies throughout Nevada are participating in Joining Forces through December with the task of stopping impaired motorists.

Grant money for this event is provided by the Nevada Department of Public Safety-Office of Traffic Safety. These monies are used to pay for additional deputies who will be out looking for impaired drivers, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel of the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

Carson City sheriff's log: Deputies make DUI, domestic battery arrests

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 1:14 a.m. in the 1700 block of East William Street on suspicion of DUI and speeding, both misdemeanors. According to the arrest report, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy clocked the driver going 52 mph in a 35 mph zone on East William Street.

The officer activated his emergency lights and the driver would not brake to slow down, the report states. The officer then activated his siren and the vehicle continued heading eastbound, pulling into a parking lot in the 1700 block of East William Street.
