Carson City sheriff's arrest log for Tuesday
A Gardnerville woman was arrested Monday on a felony charge of giving an officer false identification information after she was detained for shoplifting at Walmart, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Ashlee Nicole Karow, 22, also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, petit larceny and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear in a Douglas County court.
According to the arrest report, security at the Walmart store in the 3200 block of Market Street detained the woman. When officers arrived they asked Karow for her name. She gave them the name of someone else. While searching the woman’s purse officers located an identification card with her real name, which was run through a records check and came back with a warrant for her arrest out of Douglas County. She was taken into custody at 10:42 p.m.
Also found in the search of the woman’s purse was a zipper bag that contained rolled up aluminum foil with black tar residue. The test on the aluminum came back positive for opiates. Bail: $9,489.
In other arrests:
A 29-year-old Winnemucca woman, Felicia M. Villalobos, was jailed Monday, 11:30 a.m. on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $5,500.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 6:22 p.m. in the 4900 block of Highway 50 East on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, the victim told officers that her husband was leaving after having visiting rights with their children. The two began arguing. The victim said the man pushed her through the doorway, grabbed her head down, and in the process tore out an earring. Officers observed a wound to the ear. Bail: $3,137.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Monday, 1:45 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for petit larceny, issued Sept. 19, 2014 lout of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 25-year-old Reno man was booked Monday, 5:30 p.m. into Carson City Jail on three misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Two were issued Jan. 9, 2012, and the other was issued Feb. 4, 2012 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,107.
— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:02 p.m. in the 700 block of Crain Street on a misdemeanor warrant charge of contempt of court issued Sept. 3, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 9:16 p.m. at Carson Meadows and Fifth streets for suspicion of careless driving, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended registration. All charges are misdemeanors.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to the area of Monte Rosa where an intoxicated man, who officers spoke with earlier, had been seen fleeing in a vehicle.
Dispatched advised the man was driving, possibly on Fifth Street. Officers observed the vehicle, a blue Subaru, traveling westbound at a high rate of speed going around 60 mph. Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the man. He smelled of alcohol, became uncooperative with officers and was taken into custody.
At jail officers attempted field sobriety tests in which the man fell over during the instruction phase of the nine step walk and turn. The tests were ended for safety reasons. He submitted to a preliminary breath test with failed results, the arrest report states. Bail: $1,476.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
