Homecoming is more than just a football game, it encompasses multiple celebratory events such as bonfires, tailgate parties, dances, and the crowning of a King and Queen. Fall is in the air in Carson City, and a change in the weather was one more reason for kids and adults alike to get out and celebrate this year’s Disney themed Happiest Homecoming on Earth.

Carson High School will again open its doors a little wider and longer for the 3rd Annual Back-to-School Night like no other Sept. 9. Open House, Open Hearts is a community event focused on building bridges to local services for teens and their families, increasing parent and guardian engagement at CHS, and celebrating the community, creativity, and diverse talents of Carson City.
Nevada high school science performance improves statewide by 5.1 percent

Science performance in elementary schools increased over the prior year while middle school performance decreased, according to a highlight summary released Wednesday by the Nevada Department of Education.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 09/01/2019 - 5:36amWatching them gather, wearing pajamas, wrapped in blankets, and celebrating the beginning of their senior year, the Class of 2019-2020 gathered together at 6:00 a.m. Aug. 30 on the bleachers of the Carson High School football field to watch the sun rise; it is the beginning of their last year at CHS, and, for some of them, their last year as students who were raised within the Carson City School District, students who went from kindergarten at Mark Twain Elementary to Carson Middle School and have spent the last three years at CHS.
Nevada shocks Purdue with 56-yard field goal at game’s end

With the Wolf Pack down 31-14 late in the third quarter, Nevada scored 20 unanswered points capped-off by Talton’s 56-yard field goal as time expired. It is the team’s second-largest comeback since 1996. Talton came into Saturday’s game as the backup placekicker, but he ended the night as the hero.

Carson City's Centennial archery facility to be named for internationally-renowned bow maker

Representatives of Carson City’s Clear Creek Bowmen archery club, along with the Parks and Recreation department, brought the resolution to the Board in an effort to honor Tim Meigs, a long-time Carson City citizen who was entered into the Archery Hall of Fame, and who has based his archery business out of the capital city for over sixty years.
Kevin Cron breaks Reno Aces’ single-season home run record
