Carson Tahoe Health's annual Spooktacular event is today, Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, 1600 Medical Parkway.

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's annual Harvest Festival set for Halloween evening

Calvary Chapel Carson Valley's Harvest Festival will take place on Oct. 31, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. It is a warm and safe alternative to Halloween located at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Pinenut Road.

Admission is a suggested donation of two unopened bags of candy per family. Free food, drinks, games, lots of candy, cookie decorating, a cake walk, entertainment and more will be available. Non-frightening costumes are encouraged. For more information, call Calvary Chapel at 265-3259.

Downtown Carson City Candy Crawl

Trick or Treat Downtown at participating businesses. Mystery Prizes will be given out at surprise locations. Member businesses in the Downtown Business Association are hosting their 4th annual Candy Crawl on October 31st from 5pm to 6:30pm. This event is FREE and gives families a safe, fun and centrally-located option for Trick or Treating. Carson City boy reported missing found safe in Reno area, sheriff confirms

UPDATE 3:52PM: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong told News 4 the 11-year-old boy walked more than 12 miles on Wednesday afternoon after getting in an argument with family members. Brendan Hubbs-Whitney was found near the Chocolate Nugget candy factory in Washoe Valley by a woman who was on her way to Reno early Thursday morning. Read the News 4 story here.

Carnival fundraiser Saturday for Carson City Cub Scout Pack 145

Carnival Fundraiser to benefit Carson City Cub Scout Pack 145. There will be 14-15 games to play, some which are from Circus Circus, hot dogs, nachos, cotton candy, and candy for sale, and lots of prizes to be won. There will also be a silent auction to benefit the "Investment in Character" program. This event will be helpd on April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Borderwich Bray Elementary. Come one, come all!

Easter Egg Hunt at Marine Housing Coleville

Sierra-Tahoe Branch and Unit #137 of the Fleet Reserve Association hosted the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Marine Corp Mountain Training Center, Housing Area, Coleville, CA which was well received by the children and parents.

The Branch & Auxiliary members prepared 600 plastic eggs and stuffed them with candy and small toys. In addition, one of the members made bunnies out of washcloths which the children can use instead of an ice pack (also known as boo-boo bunnies).
