Carson City's Wild Horse Children's Theater Presents Honk, Jr. The Musical
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Mon, 12/04/2017 - 10:44amWild Horse Children's Theater will present "Honk! Jr.," the award-winning musical that transformed Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale of the Ugly Duckling into a modern musical comedy.
Performances will be at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St., on Dec. 8-10 and 15-17. Show times are 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sundays.

If you didn’t want to brave the downpour to drop-off a frozen turkey Thursday, then you are in luck. Another frozen turkey drive runs all day at the Max Casino in Carson City or the Sanchez Meat Co. in Minden. The Carson High Craft Show, a long-time locals’ favorite, begins this evening at 5 p.m.

Join the Carson City Classical Cinema Club for this month’s flick, The Fabulous Dorseys, and make sure you’re there for the trivia portion. Speaking of trivia, Tuesdays are packed with it. Sassafras hosts the Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz and you’ll find DJ Trivia at the Fox Brewpub.

Stick around for the annual fall Blinky Man Costumed Nighttime Bike Ride Pub Crawl with Lights. Halloween festivities, a carnival in Mills Park, and opening night of the La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow are on today’s list, as well.

Carson Creepy Short Horror Film Competition

The audience gets to vote on the Best Picture and its pick of Audience Choice award.

I strive to make sure that my things-to-do lists reflect the many options available to you. Today, for example, you’ll find a fundraiser for Catmandu, the monthly meeting of the fly fishing club, some country line dancing, jazz and poetry, and a walk along the historic Blue Line Trail. No two Tuesdays are alike (or Wednesdays or Thursdays, for that matter), so it’s always worth checking out. Now that we are moving into autumn, the activities in Carson City change like the leaves.

Today and tomorrow, the Jukebox International Film Festival features fifteen contestants competing in four categories. Youth Theater Carson City and Western Nevada Musical Theater alum, Grant Davis, is back in town to show support for ‘Something Like Summer,’ the Australian musical he stars in. Make sure you’re in McFadden Plaza around 5 p.m. Davis will be performing songs from the movie and music from his debut album on the Third Street Stage.
