The Carson City Symphony's 35th annual Pops Party concert will be held this Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Capital Amphitheater, in the park between the Capitol and Legislature buildings.

The Carson City Symphony, lead by David Bugli, will be joined on the program by singer-songwriter Tom Miller and the Carson City Symphony Chorus, led by interim director Ricky Hutton.

As we head into a jam-packed Memorial Day weekend, activities and events around Carson City on Friday will help set the mood for what promises to be a tremendous few days ahead. Festivities include the opening day of the Rockin’ Rib Fest at Carson City's Casino Fandango, the planting of American flags on the graves of our fallen veterans at Lone Mountain Cemetery, a weekly open mic night at A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, live music and more.

Heading into Tuesday, May 7, 2019 we are looking at another picture perfect day for a morning or evening stroll with Carson City's own Muscle Powered and a bevy of events, including a chamber digital marketing workshop, Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City Chapter meeting and open house, family movie and craft night at the Carson City Library, a filmmaking discussion followed by a showing of the classic "12 Angry Men" at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall and more. When acerbic critic, Sheridan Whiteside (Monty Wooley) slips on the front steps of a provincial Ohio businessman's home and breaks his hip, he and his entourage hilariously take over the household indefinitely. The comedy also stars Bette Davis, Ann Sheridan and Jimmy Durante.

New this year, Wired Wednesday Digital Artists will present a brief film-making discussion prior to our films, beginning at 6:00p. This month's topic - Lighting for dark films.

Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux star in this film adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic tale, in which, a man's vision for a Utopian society is disillusioned when he travels forward in time to discover how society has evolved.

Partnership Carson City is inviting the community to the premiere of “Voices of Opioid Addiction — A Retrospective” on Wednesday afternoon.

“Opioids have become a scourge to Nevada families,” said Samantha Szoyka, training specialist for Partnership Carson City. “We’re hoping this film sheds light on the horrors of this drug and give people — especially young people — a look into the devastation it can cause.”

Got honey? Wild Horse Children’s Theater will present Disney's "Winnie the Pooh, Kids" beginning this Friday and running weekends through March 31 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall in Carson City.

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway star in this 1967 biographical film about the infamous Depression-era lovers and outlaws.

After February's weather delay, the Carson City Classic Cinema Club has rescheduled its screening of "It Happened One Night" for Tuesday, March 26.

The film stars Cary Grant and Claudette Colbert in a lighthearted "road movie" long before Hope and Crosby came along.
