Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall

Organizers of the weekly Levitt AMP Carson City Concert Series have moved Saturday's venue from the Minnesota Street Stage to inside the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall due to thunderstorms and rain showers moving through the area this evening.

Tonight's music, featuring the sounds of Thee Commons as opener and Whatitdo as headline act, will play as scheduled until 10 p.m.

Ready to let the good times roll, rock around the clock, or twist again? The Silver Dollar Car Classic is throwing a party in the front parking lot of the Max Casino – plenty of hot rods, shiny chrome, and great music by Route 66 is in store. The 14th Annual Jazz and Beyond Music Festival opens tonight with a Garden Party at the historic Bliss Mansion across from the Governor’s Mansion. Bring a picnic and enjoy an art show, great live music and tours of the mansion.

It may be a universal truth that kids love helicopters. Alright, everyone loves helicopters. Head to Mills Park for the annual ‘National Night Out’ with the Carson City Sheriff’s Department for free hot dogs, cool equipment, vendors, and more. Take a team of smarty-pants to Fox Brewpub and fight for a place on the DJ Trivia leaderboard. You’ll be whisked to ‘Non-stop New York’ at the Brewery Arts Center during tonight’s Classic Cinema Club film viewing.

Making an encore performance as part of the Levitt AMP summer concert series, Southern Drawl Band returned to the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) Saturday night, bringing with it a unique style of southern rock and contemporary country music.

The Carson City Classic Cinema Club features "Non-Stop New York" starring Anna Lee and John Loder on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 6 p.m at the Brewery Arts Center.

Tonight only, July 21, one of Carson City’s own will grace the stage at the Brewery Arts Center at 7 p.m. Jessica Tucker, a classical saxophone player and 2013 Carson High School graduate is making waves on an international scale.

A whirlwind of a weekend is on its way and you may as well get it off to an incredible start. Stop by Living the Good Life and celebrate their third anniversary with an outdoor concert featuring Soul Connection. Telegraph Square has a stage set up for the Taste of Downtown tomorrow, so the Carson High Class of ’77 is hosting a street party with Prey for Son tonight. All Carson Alums (along with everyone else) are encouraged to come say hello.

This Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m., Jessica R Tucker (saxophone) and Katie Lauder (piano) will perform a recital at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Ms. Tucker has been selected to attend the prestigious Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow, which has produced the most world champion saxophone players ever.

I hope your dancing shoes are handy because the music will have you on your feet. Local favorites, Jelly Bread, take the stage at McFadden Plaza as part of the Fridays at the Fox series. Start the weekend with some belly laughs: either with Kevin Farley at the Brewery Arts Center or with Mrs. John Hughes at the Carson Nugget. Break a leg to our talented friends and neighbors participating in this year’s Senior Follies. ‘As Seen On TV’ marks the twentieth year the variety show has showcase local talent.

What are you in the mood for? The Third and Curry Farmers Market is always a great place to start off your weekend. Kids won’t mind getting up early for the Young Eagle airplane flights at the Carson City Airport – they are free of charge for kids 8 – 17, you just need to be on time for registration. The Annual Chili Cook-off returns to Glen Eagles this weekend; with live music, a craft fair, and lots of yummy stuff to eat, raising money for Honor Flight has never tasted so good. Happy Wednesday, Carson City. The long holiday weekend is over, but you can keep the good times rolling. The Fox Brewpub is hosting their monthly Whiskey Wednesday tonight, complete with raffle prizes and of course, whiskey. The Classic Cinema Club pushed back their monthly movie viewing by a day, so head over to the BAC Performance Hall to watch ‘Three Came Home.’ Keep Tahoe Blue will be starting the day at numerous beaches; their annual clean-up is necessary after the fireworks.

The first half of 2017 has slipped away, and the next half is bringing a boatload of fun. Hit the town tonight. You'll find comedian Justin Rivera at the Brewery Arts Center for an all-ages show. Everyone is invited to the open mic at A to Zen hosted by award-winning singer/songwriter Canyon White. The party never stops at Living the Good Life: they'll start with Carolyn Dolan and Peter Supersano on the stage and then let Soul Connection take it into late night. I love the summer solstice - longest day of sunshine all year. Celebrate the first day of summer with a hike up to our waterfalls; the guided Muscle Powered hike this evening will show you the way. Load up the kids and take a short drive to Silver City; all summer they offer educational fun stuff like today's 'mining for chocolate' activity. It's a night of 1000 Dad Jokes at the Brewery Arts Center where funny and punny run smack-dab into silly - laughter is the best family activity.

A happy Fathers’ Day to all of you with kids, and all of you making a difference in a kid’s life. Enjoy some family time at the Carson Hot Springs where fathers are swimming free today. We are gathering together some of northern Nevada’s funniest dads to celebrate dad humor and recount hilarious stories of fatherhood.

The Brewery Arts Center is hosting Night of 1000 Dad Jokes: A Stand-Up Comedy Showcase by Dads on Tuesday, June 20 at 7 pm (doors at 6:30) at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, located at 511 W. King St. Carson City.

Planes, trains, and automobiles take over Carson City this weekend. Steampunk ‘N’ Trains at the Nevada Railroad Museum features train rides, fun costumes, food trucks and more. You’ll find two car shows in town – the Party at the Pavilion as part of the Nevada State Fair and the Carson City Downtown Revival Car Show at the Carson Nugget. Wild Horse Children’s Theater presents "Getting to Know The Sound of Music" at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall weekends June 9-18.

Performances are Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

"Getting to Know The Sound of Music" is uniquely adapted for youth performers from the musical "The Sound of Music," and is the world’s most endearingly popular musical.

Saturday May 20th, 2017, Carson Valley LGBTQIAP&Friends will be hosting Beth Schroeder, a representative from The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention program, at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall between 2 and 4 p.m.

This event is free to attend, 100 percent family friendly, and an LGBTQIAP inclusive safe space. Once the presentation has complete, The normally weekly scheduled Carson Valley LGBTQIAP&Friends meeting will commence and we would love to have a chance to meet more of our community!
