Advocates to End Domestic Violence is the recipient of a $2,500 food grant from the Carson City Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This grant will allow AEDV to provide meals and canned goods to shelter clients in need throughout the year.

Carson City Toyota is proud to donate to Advocates to End Domestic Violence, who provide much-needed services in our community for victims of domestic violence.

Typically, Taste of Downtown is the largest annual fundraiser for the nonprofit. Due to COVID-19, the event has unfortunately been cancelled.

In an update Wednesday from Advocates to End Domestic Violence, the organization behind the community's annual summer culinary favorite Taste of Downtown Carson City, the event won't take place on July 18 as volunteers had hoped. However, organizers are working on plans to find a way to make the event happen this year.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Though we are not able to raise awareness as we normally would, we will be posting daily on our SARA Facebook page, and we hope you will follow us and share our posts to help us reach as many people as possible.

Stimulus Program Information

The coronavirus relief bill passed March 27 by Congress provides payments to individuals who make less than $100,000 a year. The payment total $1,200 for each adult who makes $75,000 or less, plus $500 per child. The payment amounts decrease if you make between $75,000 and $99,000. The income is determined by your latest tax return filed with the IRS. It will use your 2019 taxes if you have filed them already, or your 2018 taxes if you haven't. February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. According to loveisrespect.org, nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year.

A Christmas gift of $2,500 was presented Tuesday to Carson City's Advocates to End Domestic Violence by Greater Nevada Credit Union. The donation is to help assist victims of domestic battery in the community.
