Carson Creepy Short Horror Film awards presented Tuesday at Brewery Arts Center
Wired Wednesday Digital Arts Association held their annual Carson Creepy Short Horror Film competition screenings and awards on Tuesday, October 30th at the Brewery Arts Center.
Local filmmakers were challenged earlier this month to make short horror films in exactly one week.
This was the 5th year for the event.
Participants were judged in a number of categories that included the use of prompts (items given to the filmmakers that must be used in their films), technical achievements, acting, storytelling, directing, etc.
The films are judged by a panel made of of people from within the community, and on the night of the screenings the audience gets to cast their votes, as well. The winners this year were:
1. Best Picture (Judges): Beware of Dog, directed by Aaron Franke;
2. Best Picture - Runner Up (Judges): Ready or Not, directed by Xander Borg & Trevor Young;
3. Best Picture (Audience Choice): Bed and Breakfast, directed by Natalia Filson;
4. Best Technical: Pumpkin Monster, directed by Sean LeBard & Antone LeBard;
5. Best Use of Prompts: Ready or Not, directed by Xander Borg & Trevor Young;
6. Best Performances (Judges): Nancy Sawyer (Bed and Breakfast), Cece Dietlein (Beware of Dog), Leslie LeBard (Pumpkin Monster) and Isaiah Williams (Ready or Not);
