Carson City Brewfest happening this weekend bringing music, food and craft beer downtown
This weekend’s Capital City Brewfest checks all the boxes needed to have a great time. Plenty of breweries? Check. Live music in McFadden Plaza? Check. Food trucks, fun raffle prizes and great weather? Check, check, check.
The annual Capital City Brewfest takes place this Saturday, June 22nd, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. along Curry Street at McFadden Plaza in Downtown Carson City.
Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carson City, the Capital City Brewfest is the club’s major fundraiser. Proceeds benefit the club’s community, youth and educational programs.
“The sunny skies will set the perfect stage for this year’s Capital City Brewfest,” said organizer Jim Gray. “We are excited to welcome some newcomers to the Brewfest this year including Imbib, 21st Amendment, BJ’s and Estrella Jalisco. And of course, we appreciate all of the brewers who have supported us over the years.”
Steve Young, owner of long-time participant Shoe Tree Brewing, says his team always looks forward to the event. “The Capital City Brewfest is truly a flagship event in Carson City,” he said. “We love seeing so many people enjoying our beer and our city!” Young says attendees will be able to sample several different beers from Shoe Tree including classic and seasonal brews.
10TorrLead Brewer and Distiller Andrea Latos concurs and adds that she really appreciates what the Capital City Brewfest does for the community. “This event directly benefits local Rotary programs and allows community members to connect with local businesses,” she said. “We are looking forward to pouring some of our favorites this year including Hop Tramp IPA, Lahontan Sunset Vienna Lager, a wild sour beer, and Lavender Lemonade, a canned cocktail for those who need a break from beer.”
Along with enjoying the beer attendees can dance in McFadden to classic rock cover band Sierra Roc. Plus, hunger pangs can be kept at bay with eats from food trucks Nevada Nosh, King of Kings, Asian Street Eats and the Cap. City Rotary Club.
As in past years, there will be a raffle. “We have some terrific prizes,” Gray said. “Who wouldn’t enjoy winning a wagon filled beer or wine, rounds of golf and popular local courses, or a gas grill! We really believe there is something for everyone at the Capital City Brewfest, plus it’s a great opportunity to reconnect with old and new friends. All of our club members put a lot of time and effort into the event and we love doing it.”
Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door and can be purchased at https://www.capitalcitybrewfest.com
