Pair from Bakersfield, Calif. arrested for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine into Carson City
A pair from Bakersfield, Calif. were arrested in the 3800 block of S. Carson Street early Friday morning for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, and prohibited people in possession of a gun, among other offenses.
Harvey Mahoney, 31, and Aimee Negre, 36, were arrested around 3:30 a.m. after deputies were walking through the parking lot of a local S. Carson Street casino when they made contact with the pair.
According to the report, deputies asked for consent to search Mahoney’s person, and Mahoney agreed. On his person deputies located a methamphetamine pipe which gave a presumptive positive test for methamphetamine residue inside.
Deputies also located a glass tooter straw in the rear right pocket of Negre’s pants. When deputies asked her about it, she said it had originally contained a rose that Mahoney had given to her. She said she does not use methamphetamine.
Mahoney told deputies they were originally from Bakersfield, Calif. and had come to Carson to gamble. He told deputies a friend was coming to pick them up because they did not have a car.
Deputies found a key fob on Mahoney’s person and pushed the emergency button, which caused a car horn to blare from the nearby parking garage.
Deputies located the vehicle and Mahoney gave them permission to search the vehicle. Inside the vehicle was a pit-bull, who was taken into custody by Animal Control.
In the glove box of the vehicle, deputies located a methamphetamine bong and a Kahr pistol. On the floor, they located a black plastic trash bag which contained two baggies of methamphetamine. The first bag weighed 41.7 grams, and the second weighed 123.2 grams. Alongside the baggies was a black digital scale.
Deputies also found $6,496 in cash on Mahoney’s person, which was seized as deputies believed it to be the proceeds of drug sales.
Mahoney told deputies he uses methamphetamine every day.
Dispatch advised both Mahoney and Negre have felony convictions out of California for drug and firearm offenses.
The pair was taken into custody and booked without incident.
Harvey Mahoney and Aimee Negre are both facing the following: Possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, prohibited person in possession of a gun, conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, trafficking level one.
Bail for each: $38,637
— A 40-year-old Dayton man was arrested in the area of N. Carson Meadows and E. Musser Street early Friday morning for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, ex-felon failing to register, and a violation of a suspended sentence warrant out of Carson City Justice Court.
Keith Daniel Ray Anspach was arrested after deputies were patrolling in the area of E. William Street when they ran the plates of a vehicle traveling eastbound. Dispatch advised the owner of the vehicle, Anspach, had a confirmed warrant.
Deputies made contact with Anspach who was taken into custody on the warrant.
Inside his vehicle, deputies located a pair of nunchucks, a tooter straw which gave a presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
Deputies learned that Anspach had previously been convicted of felony smuggling of contraband in 1998 in Gainesville, Florida, and felony possession of nunchucks in December 2016 in Santa Monica, Calif. Anspach had not registered with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office as a convicted felon.
He was taken into custody without incident

— A 39-year-old transient woman who is a current inmate at the Carson City Jail was additionally booked on four warrants issued out of Carson City for felony burglary, two counts of theft of a credit card, and petit larceny.
Tiffany Marie Williams was booked on the additional charges.
Bail: $20,000
— A 68-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 1200 block of Potomac Place Thursday afternoon for felony preventing a person from reporting a crime, and misdemeanor battery.
According to the arrest report, Ilonka Louise Miller was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a residence on reports of a possible domestic battery.
The reporting party advised Miller was being verbal and physical. While on the phone, the line was disconnected and attempts to recontact the residence went unanswered.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who advised their friend, Miller, was intoxicated and had attacked them. They said Miller had began to yell at them, pushed them, and then shook them.
They said that an elder family member had called the police, at which point Miller grabbed the phone and took it into another room.
Deputies made contact with the elder family member who said Miller has a severe drinking issue, and that they had witnessed an altercation between Miller and the friend. The family member as reluctant to talk to deputies, as they did not want Miller to get in trouble.
Deputies found Miller inside the driver’s seat of a vehicle that was registered to the elder family member. Miller put the key in the ignition and started the car.
Deputies were concerned she was going to drive away, so they ran up to the car and ordered her to turn off the ignition and hand them the keys. Miller appeared distracted and became angry before starting to yell at deputies.
She then stepped out of the vehicle and tried to walk away from deputies, at which point she was detained and placed in handcuffs.
She gave a PBT which resulted in a .161 BAC on a partial blow. She was taken into custody for battery and felony prevention of a person reporting a crime.
