Carson City detectives asks for public's help locating runaway last seen in June

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help in locating a 16-year-old runaway last seen June 13 of this year.

Andrew Pinedo was last seen in Carson City. Investigators have received information that he may be in the Reno or Sun Valley areas.

Pinedo is described as 5’10, 140 pounds with brown curly hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information please contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Dispatch 775 887-2007, Investigations 775 887-2020 option No. 2.

DCSO is seeking the public's assistance in obtaining information about a series of home burglaries that recently took place, with the suspects possibly driving a white Ford Escape.

Throughout December, there are a number of concerts planned throughout the capital city, including by the Carson City Symphony, the Carson Chamber Singers Carolers, the Symphony Youth Chorus, and more.

A 19-year-old Carson City man who appeared to be suffering from mental health issues was arrested in the 1300 block of Fleetwood Ave. for attempted grand larceny of a motor vehicle after allegedly trying to steal a Door Dasher’s car.

According to the arrest report, the Door Dasher was dropping off a delivery and left his vehicle running. While on his way back to the vehicle, he saw a “young skinny male in a white hoodie” had gotten into the driver’s seat and was attempting to steal and drive off with the vehicle.

Looking for a change, Autumn Stewart decided to join Pioneer Academy halfway through her tenth grade year. She is currently on track to satisfy her graduation requirements a semester early and is planning to take a short break from school before joining the military to follow her goal and lifelong ambition to go into nursing.

If you have or know any children who will be in Kindergarten next school year, we are having a winter activity night on December 19th, from 5-7 PM at the CHS High Tech Center, at 1111 N Saliman Rd, Carson City, NV 89701 (the building on the corner of Saliman and Robinson) planned by our fabulous Early Childhood Career and Technical Education class.

There will be a winter themed craft, cookies and cocoa, station rotations with learning activities and take home resources for parents.

A 23-year-old woman and a 72-year-old man were arrested in the area of Research and College Parkway Thursday night for possession of “suspected methamphetamine dust particles.”

According to the arrest report, deputies made a traffic stop due to a license plate being unreadable at 50 feet away. Deputies made contact with the driver, James Weber, and the passenger, Monica Lopez.

The annual Carson Mall Holiday Market has returned for another year, featuring local artists, unique gifts, and of course — Santa Photos!

The market is located inside the Carson Mall and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

Western Nevada College’s Financial Aid Office is bringing its services to the community with a three-month pilot program at Carson City Library.

A crash Friday morning has traffic backed up on I-580 south as of 8 a.m.

The crash appears to have happened between the Highway 50 and Fairview exits.

It is not known at this time when the crash will be cleared. If possible, motorists should seek alternate routes.

Happy Friday Carson City and say hello to our newest pet of the week this week, Amelia!

Amelia is an 8-month-old pup. She came in needing medical attention to her eyelids. Her lower eyelids rolled inward, which our amazing veterinarian was able to fix. She is still healing but is doing great! She is looking for a home to help her heal and learn good manners and cool tricks.

Discover the wonderful world of pine trees this Saturday, Dec. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City.

Minor decoys will be sent into local businesses in Carson City that have liquor licenses. The decoys will attempt to purchase alcohol, using their real identification.

A storm moving into the greater Lake Tahoe area prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory until 4 p.m. Thursday.
