Carson City arrests: Stolen vehicle found in parts, man facing multiple charges
A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for multiple charges including felony possession of stolen property, being a convicted felon with a firearm and destruction of property, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Jerome Paul Jacinto was taken into custody at 10:29 a.m. in the 4800 block of East Nye Lane. He also faces misdemeanor charges of domestic battery, resisting arrest and making threats.
A search warrant was granted by a Carson City judge to allow for a search of a home in the 4800 block of East Nye. Prior to execution of the warrant, Jacinto exited the residence and ran from a deputy resulting in a short foot pursuit, the arrest report states.
He was taken into custody. During a search of the residence officers found a 32-caliber pistol. Jacinto’s criminal history shows he was a convicted felon and had prior arrests and convictions for ex-felon in possession of a firearm in 2015, the arrest report states.
Also located in the backyard of the residence was a red Ford Mustang that was in numerous pieces and was being parted out, the arrest report states. A check of the Mustang’s VIN numbers revealed the vehicle was reported stolen out of San Pablo, Calif., on August 28, 2017.
He was booked at Carson City Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, obstructing an officer, domestic battery first offense, destruction of property and making threats. Bail: $59,861.
In other arrests:
— A 36-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony grand larceny after allegedly attempting to steal more than $600 in merchandise from a department store, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Joshua Rudy was taken into custody at 3:53 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to Kohl’s regarding a larceny that occurred and met with loss prevention who identified Rudy as stealing approximately $670 in merchandise, passing all points of payment and leaving the store.
Loss prevention advised there were two others with Rudy who were able to outrun him and left in a vehicle but was able to detain Rudy. Loss prevention was able to recover stolen items that Rudy had stuffed down the front of his pants. Bail: $25,000.
— A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 2:59 a.m. in the area of West Winnie Lane and North Carson Street for a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear for a traffic citation issued Sept. 7, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,070.
