A man known as “Tattoo Mike” who had been wanted by Carson City Sheriff’s Office investigators for suspicion of felony burglary was captured Friday night at a College Parkway apartment, a Carson City sheriff’s detective said.

Mike Galceran, 46, of Carson City, was taken into custody at 8:58 p.m. at the University Heights Apartments in the 2000 block of West College Parkway, said Detective Sal Acosta. He faces three felony charges for suspicion of burglary. He is suspected to be involved in burglaries and stolen credit card transactions in Carson City.

Earlier this week the Carson City Sheriff’s Office released a series of surveillance photos of Galceran hoping someone would identify him and provide information of his whereabouts.

— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on felony suspicion of domestic battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly getting into a confrontation with a nephew in which a knife was drawn and the victim suffering a laceration to the hand, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested was Alberto M. Malasaga at his residence in the 600 block of West King Street at 8:50 a.m. Friday. According to the arrest report, a deputy was called to Carson Tahoe Hospital in reference to a victim of a stabbing.

The deputy met with the victim who said he lives with Malasaga as roommates. He said that at around 1 a.m. Friday, they began to argue over bills and friends. At some point Malasaga obtained a multi-type tool that had a knife attached and allegedly slammed the knife into the table.

The two continued to argue when the suspect then grabbed the victim by his hair with his right hand and was holding the knife in his left and made several stabbing motions toward the victim, the arrest report states. The victim said he grabbed the knife with his right hand and tried to disarm his uncle. In the process the victim suffered a laceration to the inside of his right hand. The victim left the scene and went to the hospital for treatment. The suspect left the residence and was not located until approximately 8:40 a.m. when an officer responded to the West King residence.

An officer arrived at the location and the suspect invited him into the residence. The suspect was advised of his Miranda rights and was told why law enforcement was there. The man said he wished to waive his rights and answered the officer’s questions. He said that his nephew resides with him. The deputy asked him about the “Leatherman” style knife that was allegedly used in the battery.

Malasaga removed the tool from a carrying pouch attached to the right side of his body with a leather belt. He then refused to answer any other questions regarding the alleged battery. The officer did not observe any other evidence. The officer asked him if there was any damage done to the table or any furniture in the residence. The man refused to answer the question and was taken into custody. Bail; $30,000.

— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 5:45 a.m. in the area of Park and Stewart streets on suspicion of DUI, disobedience of a traffic control device; driving left of center and failure to maintain a lane of traffic.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a Honda Accord turn north on Stewart Street from eastbound Telegraph. The vehicle began driving north in the southbound No. 2 land and swerved across three lanes of traffic into the northbound No. 2 lane, nearly striking a curb.

The vehicle then swerved back into the middle of the travel lane and failed to stop for the red traffic signal at Robinson Street, continuing northbound. At William Street the light was red. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop halfway out into the intersection. The light changed green and the car then drove across the intersection and nearly struck the light standard at the north east corner of the intersection and then swerved back into the travel lane, the arrest report states.

The officer initiated a traffic stop at Park and Stewart Street and made contact with the female driver. The officer could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath and she showed signs of impairment.

She could not produce a driver’s license. She verbally identified herself and said she had two drinks prior to driving. The officer asked if she would perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests. She could not do them as demonstrated. She submitted to a preliminary breath test that showed her over .08. Based on her driving and signs of intoxication, she was arrested for suspicion of DUI. A computer check showed she had a valid license and no prior DUI convictions. She was booked on the charges. Bail: $1,398.

The officer made contact with the man who had an odor of alcohol and his breath and showed signs of impairment. He said he drank 2, 32-ounce beers prior to driving and gave the officer an expired Nevada permit card. He submitted to a series of standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of intoxication. The man said he didn’t mean to steal the alcohol and blamed it on mental illness. Walmart surveillance showed him placing the alcohol in grocery bags and leaving the store. The man has a felony theft related history, a non-extraditable felony warrant and was physical with Walmart security. Bail: $352.
