Carson City School Board to discuss new employee protection policies, restorative discipline
The next Carson City School Board meeting will take place Tuesday, Sept. 24 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Bob Crowell Board Room of the Community Center locate at 851 E. William St.
On the agenda:
— Trustees will discuss the adoption of the district’s Restorative Discipline Plan for the 2024-25 school year as required by state law.
— An informational update will be provided regarding the Behavioral Learning and Social Skills Teaching (BLAAST) program, which reviews structured support through targeted interventions, including behavior management strategies, social-emotional learning activities and individualized support plans.
— A discussion will be held regarding promotions within the district, including establishing criteria for crediting experience when employees transfer to new positions within the district.
— In addition, trustees will discuss two newly proposed policies for employees including reasonable accommodation for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault and military leave.
