Carson City weekend events include outdoor concerts, movie at Mills Park, live ballet and more

Outdoor activities and concerts are plentiful this weekend as July flashes by and smoke-filled skies enter the Carson City area. As of Thursday, all events below are happening as scheduled but are subject to last minute changes.
One Way Street band will be performing live this Friday, July 23 in Bob McFadden Plaza in Carson City from 6 to 9:30 p.m. McFadden Plaza is located at 223 W. Third Street. More information on the concert and One Street Band can be found in the story here.
The Levitt AMP concert series will continue with live music and art on Saturday, July 24 with Tommy Castro & the Painkillers from 7 to 10 p.m. Background on Tommy and his band can be found here. All concerts will be held in the BAC’s outdoor amphitheatre and are free of charge. A full list of this summer’s performers can be found here.
The family summer movie series continues in Mills Park this Friday with a screening of Disney’s “Homeward Bound”. Presented by the Carson City Cinema Club, the movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. and is free of charge. Go here for more information.
The Brewery Arts Center and Sierra Nevada Ballet will be presenting the live classical ballet show “Giselle” on Friday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the BAC outdoor venue. Battle-Born Harley Davidson is hosting Cruise For A Cause on Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m., benefitting the family of the late Jason Torrez. Riders will meet at Harley Davidson at 11 a.m., located at 2900 Research Way, and are asked to bring one non-perishable food item to participate in the ride around Lake Tahoe. The Carson City Farmer’s Market returns for another Saturday at its temporary location east of the Carson Nugget in the parking lot at 412 N. Stewart Street from 8:30 a.m to 1 p.m. More information can be found here.
The Historic Foreman-Roberts House will be open to the public on Sunday, July 25 from 1-3 p.m. located at 1207 N. Carson Street. Hosted by the Carson City Historical Society, the event will feature stories of the Roberts Family and their local history. More information can be found here.
Adam’s Hub will be hosting What’s Possible with LinkedIn on Friday, July 23 from 12 to 1 p.m. at their location on W. Proctor Street. The free lunch and learn business event will feature the managing partner of Ignited Results, Jon James. More information on how to RSVP to the event can be found here.
The Carson City Department of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space rescheduled their ‘Summer Tot Trot’ to this Saturday in the Carson River Park from 10 to 11 a.m. Activities include a scavenger hunt along the trail while exploring the area. The Lodge Retirement and Assisted Living Facility is hosting a classic car show and barbeque fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone is welcome to share their classic car or motorcycle at their location on E. The Carson Fly Fishing Club is hosting an Introduction To Fly-Fishing course on Friday, July 23 at 6 p.m. into Saturday, July 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The class will be held in the Ormsby Room at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and will be featuring basic techniques of fly fishing. Masks are required.
The Silver and Sage Show, previously the Carson City Fair, is moving to the Douglas County Fairgrounds this weekend June 23, 24, and 25. The event will feature a youth livestock show and sale, a youth dog show, and youth still exhibit entries. The fairgrounds are located at 920 Dump Road, Gardnerville. Shoe Tree Brewing Co. is hosting a night of live music this Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. Bands including Engine Fire, Black Crosses, and Last One Down will be playing at their location on Old Hot Springs Road. More information can be found here.
Living the Good Life Nightclub, Bistro and Lounge will be celebrating seven years of business this weekend with live music. Friday night will feature Southern Justice and Greg Austin from 6 to 10 p.m. in their outside venue. The Bank Saloon will present live music from the band Prime Time on Friday evening and Brian Lester on Saturday evening. Both shows will play from 7 to 10 p.m. The events are free of charge and open to the public.
Bella Vita Bistro will host live music from Richard Richyrich on Friday evening at 5:45 p.m. in their location inside the Carson Mall. Reservations are advised, call 775-515-4300 to save your spot.
