A power outage at the traffic signal located at Stewart and Robinson streets is apparently ongoing this morning, according to members of the Carson City Sheriff's Office and emergency dispatch.
The outage, originally reported by dispatch at around 7:15 a.m., is reportedly affecting just the Robinson and Stewart signal.
A resident in the area reportedly heard a boom coming from the vicinity, dispatch told deputies.
The Sheriff's Office investigated the outage at the signal, noting the problem might have come from a small transformer unit atop a power pole near the intersection.
NV Energy has been notified of the outage and is currently on scene, but power has not yet not been restored.
Deputies are on scene performing traffic control.
Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
According to dispatch, NV Energy has ordered a portable generator be delivered to the intersection for emergency power. But its delivery may take about an hour, dispatch has reported.
